Welcome to the Town of Solon!
Solon is located right in the heart of Cortland County, approximately 4 miles east of the City of Cortland. The town covers 29.7 square miles of picturesque hills and valleys with State Route 41, Trout Brook and Cheningo Creek running through it. Solon is predominantly a residential and agricultural community. Over 2500 acres of State Forest lands fall within the town offering an abundance of recreational opportunities such as hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing.

New Town Supervisor

Solon Town Clerk / Tax Collector Hours and Holiday Schedule
- Town Clerk hours: Every Monday 5 pm - 6:45 pm
- Additional Tax Collection Hours: January - May only: Saturdays 8 am - 10 am.
- Closed for all Federal Holidays.

New County Recycling Guidelines - Thank you for recycling!
- The County has updated Recycling Guidelines. Now plastic items that contain the “chasing arrow” symbol with the numbers 1, 2, or 5 should be recycled. The new flier can be viewed here.
Solon Town Board Schedule
- The Solon Town Board meets 7 pm on the 3rd Monday of every month unless the 3rd Monday is a holiday, then the meeting will be on Tuesday at 7 pm.
