Properties of Confinement and Re-Creation

After serving in the US Navy (1997-2003) I decided that the past was just that. Gone. Castaway to a Distant Land, and Lost in the blur of Memory. However, the Past became Prologue. Come and listen to the intricate ways in which my military service has shaped my journey as a leader in veteran services organizations; as a youth counselor at a home for inner-city youth in Charlottesville, VA; as a scholar who specializes in literature of African American warfare; and as one of the co-creators of a multiple-award winning initiative which challenged intimate partner violence against women—the Emory-Men Stopping Initiative.
