Canterbury Tennis Club (CTC) has 4 courts available for night tennis competition on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights. The club is a member of the Blackburn District Night Tennis Association (BDNTA).
Teams will be entered into the BDNTA competition. There are two BDNTA seasons per year: Autumn (approximately Feb – June), and Spring (approximately July – November).
Not more than 6 teams will be entered in the BDNTA competition on a particular night by CTC.
Whilst not a BDNTA requirement, CTC has a membership requirement of night tennis competition players:
For a given night, if there are:
| All teams are allocated CTC as their home venue |
| 4 of the teams will be allocated CTC as their home venue. The 1 or 2 newest team(s) to enter the night will play at an alternative venue for home games for their first season. Following the first season, the existing teams will rotate out alternative venue(s), with the teams selected based first on the longest time since previous use of alternative venues, and then random ballot to tie-break. |
Not more than 6 teams will be entered on a particular night by CTC.
Records shall be kept to assist in the event of disputes, but ultimately decisions of the CTC committee shall be honoured.
For a given night of a season, if there are more than 4 teams, and a simple majority of the team captains vote to vary the number of teams playing at CTC as a home venue in excess of the policy guidelines above, then that shall happen for the season.
Example: there are 5 teams to be entered on a Tuesday, and 3 of 5 team captains vote to play all 5 teams at CTC as the home venue, then that shall be honoured.
Other variations can be discussed and approved at committee meetings.
