We really appreciate everyone who supported the development of the KAUST Innovation Hub in Shenzhen. Our primary focus now is to achieve our objectives: fostering innovation, promoting entrepreneurship development, and advancing ongoing and new projects towards meaningful commercialization.


KAUST Networking Event – December 8, 2023

The KAUST Innovation Hub in Shenzhen hosted a Network Event under the theme of "Connect, Innovation, Empower Together" on December 8, 2023.

Opening Welcome by Dr. Tony F. Chan – President of KAUST

 Followed by remark by Zhang Lin – Director of the Shenzhen Science & Technology Innovation Committee.

Remark by Ji Shishan – President of the Research Institute of Tsinghua University in Shenzhen (RITS)

 

Remark by Ian Campbell - Vice President of Innovation & Economic Development and Executive Director of Strategic Projects, KAUST

Jinchao Xu, the Director of the KAUST Innovation Hub in Shenzhen, served as the Master of Ceremonies for the event.

The event was attended by representatives from KAUST, officials from the Shenzhen government, the CEO of NTDP, and key partners including RITS, SIGS, CUHK(SZ), SUSTech, SRIBD, SZU, among others, totaling approximately 40 attendees.

Visit by His Excellency Khalid Al-Falih, the Minister of Investment

In the evening of December 8, 2023, His Excellency Khalid Al-Falih, the Minister of Investment, visited the KAUST Innovation Hub in Shenzhen.

During his visit, H.E. spent over an hour with KAUST President Tony Chan, attentively listening to introductions by the team.

     His Excellency Khalid Al-Falih posed numerous detailed questions, covering topics such as the development plan of the Hub, the history of Shenzhen, government policies, incentive plans, and investment models.

Introduction by Renchen Liu, Deputy Dean of RITS.

His particular interest focused on understanding how to attract entities to Shenzhen, support startups, and foster innovation.

The honorable visit of His Excellency Khalid Al-Falih underscores the significance of our Hub in Shenzhen, serving not only as a window for KAUST but also as a bridge between the two nations.
