This Week We… Math: Reviewed fraction comparison using multiple strategies and reviewed addition and subtraction of fractions. Took the Mid-Module Assessment.  Family Tip Sheet Family Tip Sheet  Family Tip Sheet ELA:  We will continue to focus on how setting influences character and plot development. We will distill what the emerging themes are in Hatchet. We will begin to write our own survival narratives focusing on how we can make it interesting to read. We will read through chapter 11 and 12. Family Tip Sheet Social Studies: Continued exploring the story of the Greensboro Sit-in. Spent some time reading about and discussing the branches of government and the economy of NC. Used AVID note-taking strategies. Social Emotional Learning (SEL): We continued celebrating and exploring Women’s History month by reading The Girl Who Thought in Pictures: The Story of Dr. Temple Grandin. We continued exploring empathy and kindness in SEL.
