AACPS Chromebook install Instructions

NOTE: there is no version of Minecraft Education that can be launched from Classlink! It MUST be installed as an app on any device.

Laptop or Desktop - installing for students

Must be completed by staff ONLY! Students cannot access the System Center!

  1. Click in the search box in the bottom left of your Windows device and type in Software Center.

  1. Select the application in the pop up to launch it.

  1. Select it from the list of available apps.

  1. Select Install.

  1. Once installed from the Software Center, it will appear among the available apps for any user logged onto the laptop/desktop computer. Students/staff will need to sign in with their AACPS credentials to login to the application.

Laptop or Desktop - installing for yourself (staff)

Must be completed by staff ONLY! Students cannot access the Microsoft Store.

  1. Locate the Microsoft Store on your taskbar, or launch it from your Programs list.

  1. Click in the search field at the top and type in “minecraft education.” Select it from the search results list.

  1. Select it from the search results.

  1. Select the blue GET button to begin the install.

  1. Once installed, it will behave like any other application installed on the computer. Students/staff will need to sign in with their AACPS credentials to login to the application.

AACPS Chromebooks

Must be completed by the student who will use the app. The app installs ONLY for THAT user on THIS device!

1.Open the Google Play Store from the App Launcher in the bottom left.

2.Locate Minecraft Education from among the approved apps.

3.Select it and click to install.

4.Once installed the app can be accessed from the app launcher in the future. Students will need to sign in with their AACPS credentials to login.

NOTE: no other version of Minecraft can be accessed or used in AACPS.
