To: All Northern Lights & Starlights Students and Families
We hope you all had a great summer! We are so proud of your performances at Summer Camp and the Elkhart County Fair.
As directors, we have been working very hard to map out our entire school year. Many items need to be taken into consideration when completing this task; from rehearsals, performance calendars, handbooks, and new communication techniques. We are very focused on making all of this happen in the most effective way to avoid any mishaps and to create a smooth beginning to our school year! All of this information is in the works and will be coming out soon.
With all of that being said, we will be changing the format of our performance for the Middlebury Summer Festival this year. Both of us (Mrs. Manglos & Mr. Baker) will have just moved to the area this week. Having regular rehearsals is just impossible with all of the change for us. We have decided to have featured solos, duets, or small groups perform in our allotted time slot this coming Saturday at the festival. This will be a change that we are hopeful you will find to be a great alternative.
It is optional for students in show choir to audition and participate. Students who have prepared and memorized songs to audition will be considered. Recorded accompaniments is the only option at this time, as we will not have an accompanist available. Solos, duets, and small ensembles are all welcomed.
Auditions will be held this Monday OR Wednesday from 5pm to 6:30pm in the choir room. Attire for the performance Saturday will be our camp outfits. So, rehearsal attire for this audition is acceptable.
Thank you for your support with this change.
Yours in song,
Mr. Baker & Mrs. Manglos
