On Wednesday, May 1st we will be taking SENIORS to OCC for Registration Day. This will allow Seniors to go through the registration and orientation process. The buses will leave HSE at 7:30am and return to HSE at approx. 1:15pm. See you counselor for more information. 

Students who are interested in attending VOCATIONAL SCHOOL next year should speak to their guidance counselor about visiting a vocational school program to gain first hand knowledge about the program. Student visitation week is March 12th - March 15th.

Juniors and Seniors interested in taking the ACCUPLACER on February 25th must sign up in Guidance.  See your guidance counselor for more information.

ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS!!!!  The homeroom with the best ATTENDANCE for the month will win a free breakfast!!!!!

ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS!!!  Anyone who has PERFECT ATTENDANCE for the month of FEBRUARY will be put in a drawing for a great prize! 

Please donate items to support our troops!  Care packages will be sent to our troops overseas as part of our nea big read “the things they carried”.  The homeroom with the most donated items will win a bagel breakfast!  Items needed include:  non-perishable food items, travel toiletries, playing cards, sweat socks, etc.  collection boxes are also located at door 4, main office and the media center.

TOY DRIVE for OCEANS OF LOVE!  Students from Mrs. Fazzini’s period 3 class have put together a TOY DRIVE for kids suffering with CANCER.  Drop off toys to N23!  All donations are due by March 11.  **TOYS MUST BE NEW DUE TO THEIR WEAK IMMUNE SYSTEMS.  Please see Mrs. Fazzini in N23 with any questions.

 CLUB NEWS

Monday our new "GIRLS WHO CODE" club will be meeting in room S21. Come out and get your free t-shirt and learn how to code and make a real world website, app or game with friends. Plus, since we are part of the National Girls Who Code Club, we are invited on field trips to many events at big companies in the city and events.  This Monday after school in room S21.

The KEY CLUB is selling "RAIDERS FIGHT CANCER" wristbands for $1 each. Proceeds go to the Key Club and to Cancer Research. See a Key Club member or Mrs. Weinberger in Guidance for a wristband. 

Do you like helping others in need? Do you like to try new food? Then, this fundraiser is for you. RAIDERS IN SERVICE invite you this Saturday, Feb. 23rd during any time of the day to Fried Chicken House Restaurant in Stella Plaza (next to Home Depot) to enjoy a delicious meal from its American-Colombian cuisine or just to enjoy its famous empanadas. The proceeds will help to offset the cost of our Service trip to the Dominican Republic.  You will need the flyer or a picture of the flyer.

DYNAMIC DUO DAY IS COMING in recognition of February’s character pillar, Caring.  Dynamic Duo day has rescheduled to Friday, May 1st.  We are encouraging the faculty, staff and students to show their RAIDER SPIRIT by dressing as their favorite duo, trio, or group to show the importance of being committed to building positive, healthy relationships with others.  “Connections are the new Currency”, the more we surround ourselves with positive and supportive individuals, the richer we are.

Need a little help with your college entrance essays? Having difficulty with that research paper? Or would you just like another set of eyes to proofread your assignments?  The WRITING CENTER provides tutors to help with all types of writing assignments.  The WRITING CENTER will be open every Tuesday and Thursday after school in W-20.  Ask your English teacher for further details. – Schindler

Love to Dance?  The DANCE CREW is back!  Practice is every Tuesday in W10. All are welcome.- Hatton

NATIONAL ART HONOR SOCIETY meets every Tuesday after school in N04.

ENVIRONMENTAL CLUB will meet every Monday after school in E11. Come one, Come all!

The BIBLE CLUB meets on Wednesdays after school in Room W21. Snacks are provided. Come join us!

The ROBOTICS TEAM will be meeting every TUESDAY and THURSDAY in Room N3A after school.  Come join us anytime.

The COMPUTER CLUB will be meeting every MONDAY in Room S21 after school.  Come join anytime!!!

ATTENTION TEACHERS!

The COFFEE CORNER IS OPEN!!!  Our doors open at 7:15 in Room E16.  Keurig coffee is available at all times, and fresh brewed coffee is available by 7:30.  $1.00 for coffee or tea, and 50 cents for any snacks (doughnut, muffin, etc.)  Our students work the coffee shop periods 3 & 6 and will greet you at the door and check you out at the register, but we are open ALL DAY so any time the door is open just COME ON IN and help yourself! Please leave money on register or in tip jar when students not working.  Stay tuned for upcoming lunch specials.
