Welcome to another year of hockey coverage at The Fantasy Fix. Below is a small cheat sheet to help you build your winning lineup! Couple of things you should know:

A-- Research for the first two months of the season is going to be based on (mostly) numbers from last season, so there will be growing pains

B-- Make sure to always check out dailyfaceoff.com for line combinations and starting goalies. I’ll do my best to update this post during the day.

C--Players will be listed in order of production per salary (pp$), a fancy stat I wish I could take credit for.

D-- Please feel free to give me your opinion on the cheat sheet and what you think I should

add/remove. Be as nice/mean as you wish.

Let’s have another amazing NHL season!

Charlie Lindgren

Vs.MIN

Lindgren has been solid in his first two starts this season. MTL is playing better hockey as of late as well. His price tag on DK is a little high for my liking, so FD is the place to use him

FD

Both

Jake Allen

Vs.ARI

Highest win probability of the night. ARI’s team total is currently sitting at 2.2, which is way down there. It’s hard to predict a SO, but Allen has the best shot of getting one on this slate.

DK

Both

Ryan Miller

Vs.VAN

Revenge game for Ryan Miller? He’s getting the start against his former team, so if you follow that narrative, Miller is an option to consider. The Ducks are banged up on offence, but their defence is healthy again.

FD

C$

Cory Schneider

Vs.EDM

The Oilers are a disaster on offence. If McDavid isn’t doing the damage, no one else is. Schneider is a nice GPP option to consider since people still think EDM is elite.

Vladimir Tarasenko

Vs.ARI

So much to love about Tarasenko tonight. He’s going to be chalk in cash games, but for good reason. He’s as elite as it gets on this slate.

Both

C$

Johnny Gaudreau

Vs.DET

Is Johnny Gaudreau playing at home? Yes, so he becomes an option to consider. His matchup isn’t elite, but I expect Gaudreau to find his way on to the scoresheet by the end of the night.

DK

Taylor Hall

Vs.EDM

Another revenge game narrative? Yup, Hall is playing his former team, so I expect him to stick it to them in a big way. He’s also NJ’s best goal scorer, so that’s also a reason to trust him in cash.

DK

GPP

Tyler Toffoli

Vs.TB

Looks like Budaj is going to get the start in this one. There’s a good chance that the Kopitar line matches up with the Stamkos line, so Toffoli and company should have an easier matchup. They should also be able to do some damage against a below-average goalie.

FD

C$

Corey Perry

Vs.VAN

The Ducks are so bang up on offence, Perry is going to be counted on every night to lead the way. He’s got a good matchup in this one, so expect him to put up a couple of points by the end of the night.

Other options to consider: Tanner Pearson, Jesper Bratt, Alex Galchenyuk

Rickard Rakell

Vs.VAN

Rakell and Perry should be the second best mini-stack option on this slate. They are going to see a ton of minutes in this game, both five-on-five and on the PP. No reason not to play both of them in cash.

Both

C$

Adrian Kempe

VS.TBL

Kempe is slowly starting to become a DFS option. He’s filled in nicely for Jeff Carter on the second line. He’s also seeing PP minutes on the second unit with Toffoli. His price tag is also really good.

DK

GPP

Brayden Schenn

Vs.ARI

His price tag really isn’t appealing, but his matchup is elite. If you can fit him in with Tarasenko, do it.

FD

C$

Jonathan Drouin

Vs.MIN

As of right now, Drouin is “50/50” to play in this game. That should help drive his ownership way down. He didn’t finish the game in Tuesday against LV due to injury, but his matchup tonight against MIN is above-average. If he does play, he’s a nice option to consider.

DK

Other options to consider: Sean Monahan, Anze Kopitar and Connor McDavid

Michael Del Zotto

@ANA

By now, you probably know how I feel about Del Zotto. He’s an option to consider every time his team hits the ice. He’s a cash game stud in my books.

FD

Both

Will Butcher

Vs.EDM

Butcher has come back down to earth since the beginning of October, but that’s also brought his price tag down, which makes him a nice bargain play. If you don’t want to pay up for elite defencemen, Butcher/Del Zotto is the way to go.

FD

Both

Alex Pietrangelo

Vs.ARI

Here’s a strategy to consider: If you can’t fit Schenn into your lineup, find a value C (Kempe) and go with Pietrangelo. He’s been a stud so far this season and that shouldn’t change tonight.

FD

Both

Hampus Lindholm

Vs.VAN

Lindholm is free on DK & FD. He’s seeing top PP minutes and is averaging 10.3 FPPG on FD, which is above value for a defenceman who’s priced at $4300. He’s another value blueliner worth considering

DK

Both

Other options to consider: Drew Doughty, Sami Vatanen, Ryan Suter and T.J Brodie.
