LeBron James Biography

 

Introduction

Have you ever imagined someone who is unstoppable, talented and strong? That person is LeBron James. He exceeded expectations and became one of the greatest of all time in the NBA. He was even eligible to go into the NFL he even got offers from the Seattle Seahawks in 2011 while he was in his prime in the NBA. LeBron is something special but he is not just a basketball player he is an activist standing up for African American  rights and he made a school for kids in Akron and he pays for everything about 2 million a year to fund that school. So he has made an impact and his legacy will carry on forever. What can you do to make an impact like LeBron?

Early Life

LeBron Raymond James was born on December 30th 1984 in Akron Ohio. His mothers name was Gloria James. He did not have a father because he left when Gloria got pregnant. Gloria got pregnant when she was 16 and still in highschool. When LeBron was born they lived with Gloria's mother Freda James and they lived in a big house. But on Christmas Day 1987 Freda had a heart attack and died. So Gloria was left with the house. She could not keep up with the bills because it was such a big house so she sold the house and moved out. They were jumping from apartment to apartment trying to find a stable place to live. In the fourth grade LeBron missed 82 days of school because they were moving so much. LeBron played pee wee football and his coach really saw something in him. Then his coach Frank Walker said that “LeBron can live with us until you can get back on your feet'' so LeBron lived with Frank for about a year and a half. When LeBron was nine he found out the sport of basketball and he was good from the get go. He had some friends and they called themselves the shooting stars and there were five of them who were really good. As a freshman in highschool LeBron attended St Vincent St Mary High school. In his freshman year he averaged 21 points and 6 rebounds his team went 27-0 and led his team to a divisional championship. In his sophomore year in his sophomore year he averaged 29 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists per game. It was about the same in his junior year. In his senior year he averaged 31.6 points, 9.6 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game and then he was ready for the NBA.

Challenges

LeBron has faced many challenges in his life especially when he was a kid. His mother was 16 when he was born his father left and left Gloria by herself. They were living with Lebron’s grandmother Freda James but she died when Lebron was 3 from a heart attack so Gloria was really all alone. Then Lebron was moving apartment heaps and missed 82 days of school in the 4th grade. But LeBron got through it. This is one of the reasons why he is so inspirational.

Impact

LeBron has also made an impact by standing strong with his roots and standing up for African American Rights. He is a proud African American, and he has said some inspirational stuff like, “People will hate you, rate you, shake you, and break you, but how strong you stand, that's what makes you.” Another part or impact is his LeBron family foundation. With this foundation, he has helped countless individuals and has really made an impact in their lives. He also made a school for kids in Akron. It is called the I Promise School. From grades 1 to 8, every student that goes there doesn't have to pay. This school is particularly for at-risk kids.

Legacy

LeBron James over his career has won many awards 4x mvp, 4x champion, 4x finals mvp  and 20x all star appearances.  He has helped many people in this world with his LeBron family foundation. He has helped countless individuals and really made a difference in their life. He has even helped kids. He is a special person.

Conclusion

His impact has made a difference in many people's lives including the at risk kids in Akron,Ohio. He even made a school for them. He has also helped people with his LeBron family foundation. So he has made an impact by helping people and staying strong with his roots and standing up for African American lives. He also has many inspirational quotes like “Don’t be afraid of failure it leads to success”. His overall message is he helps people impact them in a big way and he is a really good basketball player.
