TIIP SAIL COOKIES AND ANALYTICS POLICY

Last revised on 01-March-2022

1. Cookies

We use cookies on our site. A cookie is a small file that your browser automatically creates and that is stored on your device (laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc.).

When we use the term "cookie", we include your browser's support for "localStorage," whose description is identical to that above.

You can use your web browser’s settings to refuse cookies if you wish; however, our site will be non-functional if you so choose.

We use cookies for three purposes:

  1. "You are logged-in" cookies:
Cookies are used to allow you to refrain from having to login/authenticate for each distinct web page.  The presence of the cookie lets us know that you have already logged-in, and thus we do not have to constantly ask you to provide your username/password information.  Our site will not operate at all without this "you are logged-in" cookie.  Note that our system never stores your password on your device in any form, encrypted or unencrypted.
  2. Response-retention cookies:
Cookies are used to store your responses to the questions that are posed in the Key Resource Guides.  By storing your responses, we refrain from having to ask you to repeat your answers every time you visit or print those Resource Guides.
  3. Analytics cookies:
In order to keep our website services relevant, easy to use and up to date, we use web analytics services to help us understand how people use the site.  Cookies allow web analytics services to recognise your browser or device and, for example, identify whether you have visited our website before, what you have previously viewed or clicked on, and how you found us. The information is anonymous and only used for statistical purposes, and it helps us to analyse patterns of user activity and to develop a better user experience.

The TIIP SAIL site's cookies:

Most browsers accept cookies automatically. Should you not wish these cookies to be stored, please deactivate the acceptance of these cookies in your internet browser.  However, as mentioned above, you will not be able to login if you so choose, so our site will be non-functional.

You can delete cookies via your browser at any time.  Doing so will not damage your ability to use the site thereafter, but you will lose the record of your responses to questions posed in the Key Resource Guides as mentioned above.

2. Analytics and Ads

We may use third-party Service Providers to monitor and analyse the use of our service and for advertising purposes.

2.1 Google Analytics: Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic.  We use this service for the reasons mentioned above in the section on "Analytics cookies".

You can opt-out of having made your activity on the Service available to Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The add-on prevents the Google Analytics JavaScript from sharing information with Google Analytics about your activity.
