HH PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES:
As former O’Hara Dance Agency, we’ve had the opportunity to perform in many outside events: Radio City Alumni Rockettes event, Dance to Breathe, Revolve, Cavalette Spring Show, Fundraisers, Austin High Spring Show and more. We will perform all hip-hop group choreography at all performances. We offer two REQUIRED performance opportunities for HH Co. Our Christmas Spectacular and Informal Spring Showcase.
Body Lab Christmas Spectacular Dec 11, 2022:
This year will be our 5th Annual Christmas Spectacular. This past year Body Lab rented the main gym at LTHS and it was such a huge success, an incredible community event and fun time for all families. We plan to do this again for 2022. Last year we were excited to have all LTISD dance companies perform along with Bowie Silver Stars’ select Hip Hop Company. BLPA members are allowed to participate in our OPTIONAL opening Christmas routine with Santa and Mrs Claurs for an additional fee. All companies including HH Co will also participate in our Finale routine. All companies will perform their designated routine: Hip Hop Company, Kick Lab Company, Aerial Company along with a few selected BLPA solos, duets, trios depending on whether they are ready to perform by that time or not.
Body Lab Informal Spring Showcase:
Spring 2019 we decided to host our first Informal spring showcase for our younger beginner dancers to allow them an opportunity to perform and show off to parents what they learned. We turned Body Lab into an intimate black box style theater. We chose BLPA routines to perform in the earlier shows for entertainment as well all Companies perform their group routines that parents and friends could attend. In 2021 we modified our show to be a Video Shoot where we filmed all the routines and hosted a Watch Party in June in our black box theater. Families and Dancers brought blankets and chairs and we provided movie theater popcorn! We are looking forward to hosting our 2023 LOCATION TO BE ANNOUNCED.
ATTENDANCE POLICY
- Dancers must attend all scheduled Hip-Hop rehearsals. Planned absences for Hip-Hop rehearsals must be submitted to Velocity-Lacee and Lab Ratz-Amelia one month in advance. Unplanned absences include illness, family emergency or injury. Any dancer who is absent during the final rehearsal before a competition may be removed from routines, at the Director’s discretion. If we are notified that a dancer cannot compete at a competition after registration is submitted, no refunds will be issued.
- Dancers must attend all scheduled weekly classes to continue training. Whenever we offer hip-hop classes all company members must participate.
NOTE!!!! If a HH CO. member who will be attending any competitions goes weeks without attendance in classes during Fall/Spring, evaluations on technique and routine preparation may be required. This will be at the expense of the dancer. We want dancers to be committed to their personal training and progression and missing classes do not assist in this journey. We pride ourselves on being a training only facility with some classes opting out of recital commitment to ensure you continue training, so take advantage of that in order to progress. I understand school commitments and extra curricular conflicts may affect this, so please continue to communicate with your directors.
FUN
It’s not all work and no play! LAST YEAR'S FUN: Welcome Brunch with a BLPA new team photo shoot, Big/Lil Sisters & reveal, "Secret Buddy” party in December and an end of the year party with an award presentation and Senior Hall of Fame. A special gift is presented to the senior/s graduating that year.
