Job Title: Tour Boat Operator

$20-27 per hour, plus tips. Part-time, Seasonal. July to September.

Location: Operating on the Red and Assiniboine Rivers from The Forks Historic Port.

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Tour Boat Operator to join our team. As a Tour Boat Operator, you will be responsible for driving 12 passenger Pontoon boats and conducting engaging and informative tours for our guests. We showcase the historical significance and ecological importance of our waterways. This role will require a valid Small Vessel Operator Proficiency (SVOP) certification. Training is available.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate pontoon boats, ensuring adherence to all safety protocols.
• Conduct entertaining tours, with insightful commentary about points of interest.
• Ensure the comfort and satisfaction of guests.Maintain cleanliness of the boat.
• Assist guests with boarding, prioritizing the safety of guests and crew.
• Communicate effectively with passengers and other crew members to ensure smooth operation.

Requirements/assets:

• Valid Small Vessel Operator Proficiency (SVOP) certification. Training is available.
• Previous experience operating similar vessels.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.
• Physically fit and able to perform duties that may involve lifting and carrying.
• Comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
• First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays.
• Ability to communicate and conduct tours in French is an asset but not a requirement.

Applicants must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent or a temporary resident of Canada, with a valid Canadian work permit.
