Using Title II Funds To Pay For Professional Development

Many of my clients and students use Title II funds to pay for Parent Academy, THRIVE Academy, 1-on-1 Coaching and The PSL Pro Membership!

What are Title II Funds?

“The purpose of the program is to provide grants to State educational agencies (SEAs) and subgrants to local educational agencies (LEAs) to increase student achievement consistent with the challenging State academic standards; improve the quality and effectiveness of teachers, principals, and other school leaders; increase the number of teachers, principals, and other school leaders who are effective in improving student academic achievement in schools; and provide low-income and minority students greater access to effective teachers, principals, and other school leaders.

State-level activities include but are not limited to (1) reforming teacher and principal certification programs, (2) providing support for new teachers, and (3) providing professional development for teachers and principals. Local-level activities include but are not limited to (1) recruiting and retaining effective teachers and principals, (2) providing professional development for teachers and principals, and (3) reducing class size.”

How can I get Title II funds to pay for Parent Academy, THRIVE Academy or 1-on-1 coaching? Follow these six steps!

  1. You (or your Administrative Assistant) will find out the name and email address of the person that handles Title II funding for your local public school district. You can go on the school district’s website and see if that person’s name is listed there. If not, just call the administrative offices of your local public school district and ask them who handles Title II funding.
  2. I will email you an invoice for Parent Academy, THRIVE Academy, a coaching package or the PSL Pro Membership (annual rate) and you will attach that invoice to your email to the person that handles Title II funding.
  3. Please CC me on the email to the school district so that when they "reply all" I can respond directly to the Title II coordinator’s questions.
  4. Usually, the public school district’s Title II person reaches out directly to me and asks me for a W-9 and also has me fill out a New Vendor Form.
  5. The school district then processes the payment directly to me. They usually mail me a check, but I have also had school districts pay with a credit card through Stripe (on my website).
  6. Once I receive payment from your local school district, I will grant you access to Parent Academy or THRIVE Academy or the PSL Pro Membership. If you are purchasing a 1-on-1 coaching package, I will email you to set up your first coaching session.
