INVERLOCH

Weekly report by Reg Varty

Week ended, March 28 2021.

Despite the inclement weather conditions that greeted the Club’s “Come and Try Bowls” day on Tuesday, March 25, the day was a roaring success with many people ‘giving it a go’. The Club is hosting further “Come and Try Bowls” days on Saturday, April 10 at 9:30am and also on Tuesday, April 20 at 10am. There is no cost for these opportunities to come and try the game of bowls. All that is required is flat soled shoes or bare feet and we’ll provide a morning ‘cupper’ and lessons. The Inverloch Bowling Club would love to see you on the green at the Inverloch Bowling Club, 20 The Esplanade, Inverloch.

Thursday, March 25 saw 24 bowlers attend the Inverloch Bowling Club for the Thursday Mufti Social Bowls. The match comprised two games of ten ends each. Two teams had each won their two games with the scores being quite close. The runners-up were Terry Orford (skip), Gavin Blew and Ian Twyerould with two wins and 32 points. The winners of the Thursday Mufti Social Bowls were the team of Brian Humphris (skip), Polly Major and Joyce Arnold with two wins and 34 points. The major envelope went to Mary Ferguson who was just so excited with the win. The wine was taken out by Sue Nation who no doubt it will enjoy to the fullest. The next Members Night will be on Friday, April 9, 2021. See you all there and remember that you MUST be in the clubhouse to win the prizes.

With Good Friday falling on Friday, April second, the next Friday Meals night will be held on April 16 where no doubt there will be a sumptuous two course meal to be had. Entertainment will be Jack and Neil who will try to control the biggest spinning wheel in town (get your hand off the back, Neil) and Jack’s Mailbag will have some of the best/funniest correspondence ever delivered by the boys in yellow. To be part of the night you’ll have to get your reservations recorded on the board ASAP with the first 80 being admitted. It’s the place to be seen.
