Parental Guidance for Youth Career Development (Series)

Many of today’s youth suffer from low academic performance, low engagement, low confidence, and low motivation for their future prospects. These youth issues can be attributed to our youth not fully understanding their abilities, talents, interests, and skills and most importantly, not having the guidance to connect their innate abilities with a future career aspiration. When young students have a future goal, have insight on what they are good at, or what they want to pursue later in life, it translates into immediate success and focus. This provides short term focus, motivation, and a foundation for their future success.

This course will provide Newark Parents a guide to helping their children not only develop ideas and framework for their future career aspirations, but also helps give parents the tools for them to have a greater role in this process. This course provides tips and best practices to parents on how to help their children identify their innate skills and abilities, and then connect them with future career choices.
