- Does the asset's audience reflect that of the instruction?
- Does the asset present a level of challenge/performance requirement commensurate with the audience’s preparation?

- If the asset uses secondary sources, are they reliable/credible?
- Is the content free of typos and/or spelling mistakes?
- Does the asset use elements such as shapes, negative space, volume, value, color, and texture?
- Does the asset employ principles such as contrast, repetition, alignment, and proximity?
- If the asset contains video, is each video under 5 minutes?
- Does the asset avoid duplicating voiceover with identical text?
- Is the asset legible and/or audible?
- If the asset contains images, have they been optimized for their context?
- Does the asset have the accessibility features permitted by its format (alt-text for images; searchable text, headers, other tags, and metadata for documents; human-made captions for video)?
- Does the asset chunk its content into portions that account for cognitive load?
- Is the asset able to be accessed on both older and newer computers, Mac and PC, etc.?
- Does the asset have features that encourage active participation?
- Cultural Relevance/Currency
- Is the asset recent enough to be relevant to the instruction?
- Is the asset culturally sensitive to the instruction’s audience?
- Is the asset licensed under Creative Commons or in the public domain?
- Can I Retain, Reuse, Revise, Remix and Redistribute?
- Is the asset stable enough for long-term use (not in danger of being removed from its site, changing its license, etc.)?
