Updated automatically every 5 minutes

Note: in this report the Chosen Undead, or Undead for short represents our Protagonist. They are referred to with no gender, race, or age. For anyone could be put in the place of the Chosen Undead, as this story is doomed to repeat itself in an endless cycle. Any time the u in undead is not capitalized it is not referring to the Protagonist, but another who suffers from the curse

Previously on Dark Souls 2

Before I Start the Summary of the story of Dark Souls 2 that I have been able to piece together I need to bring one piece of information to light, this is also pretty much the only piece of information I know from other souls games, and it's that at the end of dark souls one. The final boss which i don't know the name of was a being of pure darkness that split into 4 beings, which the brave undead killed. After that the soul of the dark being split into 4 pieces, the rest you will find out in the story.

In this universe there is a curse that pushes humans in between limbo, they become cursed undead and slowly hollowfy. The process is slow and it takes decades, in which the undead dies and is revived at a nearby bonfire having lost a little bit of their soul, each time this happens they lose a little humanity and begin to shrivel, as this happens the undeads memory capacity reaches its limit, which inturn leads to them forgetting their previous lives, their friends, their family, their own name, they know that they have forgotten and it slowly drives them mad, having lost their mind and their soul the go full hollow, mear husks of their former selves, with only one thought left in their broken mind, Stealing other souls.

Bonfires are the remains of undead who died and were revived, these bonfires burn with a fire unique to the land of Drangleic, it is a fire that heals undead, fixing their mortal wounds, but not their broken minds.

Drangleic was a kingdom of vast power, but it was not the first of its kind, from the start it is made clear that many kingdoms have risen and fallen on this land. And King Vendrik had ruled the newest kingdom, and it is here that our story begins.

The Chosen Undead makes their way to Things Betwixt, where 3 Fire keepers dwell, the fire keepers are beings who can not die of old age and who once kept the bonfires lit all around Drangleic. They can however be killed as stated by their maid who tells us that there were once 4 but one has long since gone.

As the undead makes his way out  they find themselves in a small settlement known as Majula, this is where the few come to gather that are left. Here we meet a undead who has given up and has accepted his fate of hollowfying, A blacksmith named Lenigrast who we latter help set up his forge, Maughlin the armourer who does not suffer from the curse but rather came to satisfy his greed, Sweet Shalquoir(My personal Favorite) a Sassy Talking Persian Cat, and finally and most importantly the Emerald Herald, A women shrouded in mystery that helps us along our journey for reasons unknown. Majula has 5 pathways leading to 4 different stretches in Drangleic, The Forest Of Fallen Giants, Heide’s Tower of Flame, Huntsman’s Copse, The Gutter, and shaded wood

And now we continue the story

The Chosen Undead is told many things by the emerald herald as well as asked many things, she asks “Are you…the next monarch? Or… Merely a pawn of fate? Bearer of the curse…I will remain by your side. Till this frail hope shatters… Take this with you. May it ease your journey.” and gives you a estus flask, one only vessel capable of containing the flames of a bonfire. She then tells the Undead to seek 4 powerful souls of old ones. She also implies that the Chosen Undead should go to the Forest of fallen giants which is in view of the bonfire.

The Forest of fallen giants is an ancient fort in a forest where the trees are the corpses of  giants. Here's a picture so it makes a little more sense. This was the final stand between the giants who were wronged by Vendrick. And Vendrick who was manipulated to do so. As the Undead makes their way through they come across a merchant who goes by the name of Melentia the hag. She is an old woman who conceals her face with a hood, she uses her age to try to guilt the Undead into buying something and after talking for a while she packs up and moves to Majula, she holds the key needed to unlock Lenigrast’s forge. As the Undead explores the fort they come across another person, his name is Pate, and while he seems trustworthy and kind he turns out otherwise. The Undead continues to explore and comes across a locked door, shrugging it off they continue to adventure until they find a primitive elevator that leads to an underground alcove. Inside is the last remaining giant, dormant and having been impaled by multiple Stalagmites, the biggest of which having been through its chest. Having been awakened by the Undead's presence, the giant frees its arms from the rock formations and frees the main stalagmite not from its chest, but from the ground. The once intelligent being had gone feral and ran towards the Undead, while still having a giant rock sticking out of its ribcage. The fight goes on for a while and in desperation the giant tears off its own arm and uses it as a club. In the end the Chosen Undead had put the poor creature out of its misery. The beast in one final cry turned to dust. All that was left were the rocks that were sticking out of the giant and a key to the locked door from earlier, and the giant's soul. Hidden beneath all of the feral ferocity was a kind and strong soul that just wanted peace, which was given to it by the Undead. Once the Undead makes his way through the locked door he comes to a new enemy, a Pursuer, cursed soldiers who wander the land of Drangleic hunting for undead, having been their passion in life it has become their only thought as hollows. It is a difficult fight but the Pursuer falls to the Undead and his soul is released to eternal peace. The Final Act in this area is to do what we in the ds2 gang call “Travel by bird”. Basically stomp in a giant eagle nest until it grabs them and flies them to The Lost Bastille.

Before they get to the lost Bastille they have another route to go before they get there. On the opposite side of Majula there is an underground road with 2 passageways. One is locked by a portcutles and the other leads to Heide's tower of flame. A series of suspended pathways and platforms between several crumbling towers, and it's a long way down. These pathways lead to 2 great enemies, the first and main boss of the area. The Dragon riders were powerful dragon tamers who served king Vendrick. The dragon rider was strong but stood no chance against the Undead, and finally found peace after his defeat and the path to no man's wharf, the other way leads to the Old Dragon Slayer. A Powerful Spearman wielding both the power of light and Darkness. It is believed that he was a warrior of the light who died in battle. After years of peace in true death he was resurrected through the power of hexes and suffered through torment both physically and mentaly. However, his suffering had been brought to an end by the Undead and all that was left of him was his ring. A powerful relic. This way leads to the Cathedral of Blue. They also meet Licia, a so-called Saint of Lindelt. She, like Pate, seems untrustworthy but also opens up the 2nd pathway blocked by the portcutless in the underground way right before Heide's tower of flame.

The Cathedral of Blue was the last remaining building that was somewhat intact. Here they meet the Blue Sentinel Targray, the leader of the Blue Sentinels. They are an order that seeks to defend those who can't defend themselves.

As the Undead makes their way through No man’s Wharf, they come across a Magician Named Carhillion. He teaches the Undead about sorceries, if he sees the Undead as a worthy apprentice. He moves to Majula if he does. They also meet Gavlan, a drunkard wander who will buy their items for souls, he moves to earthen peak after the first time they talk to him.  Finally, Lucatiel of Mirrah. She is suspicious of the Undead at first and begins to open up as they talk. She departs after. Then the Undead must summon the vessel just outside the wharf. This ship pulls in and the Undead boards fighting the Flexile Sentry below deck, The Sentry in a Lizzardman like creature with two torsos sharing 1 set of legs. Once defeated its soul is put to peace by the Undead. It is then they set to sea, ending up in the lost bastille.

In the Lost Bastille they once again meet Licatiel and the two talk. She talks about her homeland and asks the Undead about the curse, then revealing that she too is an undead. The Undead also meets another blacksmith Named McDuff, and if given a dull ember will talk to the Undead, he can infuse weapons with the elements. The Undead later enter a room that leads to a straight drop, where they fight the Ruin Sentinels. Blank Souls that haunt armor. Once they are defeated they return to nothing whence they came. The Undead then gains access to belfry Luna, but we'll talk about that latter. As the Undead makes their way through they come across a Statue, which can be unpetrified to reveal Straid of Olaphis, a sorcerer from long ago, even before drangleic. A ways past Straid there is the door to sinners rise, Which I will Cover after Belfry Luna.

Right as The Undead enters Luna they are greeted by the bell keeper, a crazy little man who offers an invitation to join the Bell Keepers Covenant. (He is annoying and I can say I honestly Hate him with a passion). As the Undeaded makes their way to ring the bell they are invaded by a red spirit which the Undead defeates. Once the bell is rung the door is unsealed. The Bell was a symbol of love from a princess(Presumably the lost Sinner) to a prince(Presumably the Old Iron King). The Belfry Gargoyles, a group of mysterious stone statues that lie beyond the unsealed come to life.

Sinner’s Rise was constructed by the lost Sinner to punish herself for trying to relight the first flame, causing a calamity that turned her love, the Old Iron King into a giant demon. She holds within herself the Soul of a Great one, The Old Soul. She lives in constant Pain, wearing binds on her hands that have rubbed off the skin from her wrists. Chain that weighs her down, and a metal spiked mask she had coderised to her face, stabbing it with every movement. She does all of this to make up for her mistakes. The Chosen Undead spares her from her suffering. Releasing her to the eternal, comforting dark. Having released the lost sinner from her suffering and absorbing the Grand soul within her they go to light the primal bonfire. A bonfire so powerful that it consumed itself, shattering its sword, and only allowing safe passage back to the Farfire in Majula.

Having opened up the portcutlass door just before Heide’s Tower of Flame they are presented with a path in a giant cavern. At the end They encounter a hexer by the name of Felkin. He offers his services if the Undead is close to the dark. As the Undead makes their way through the Huntsman’s Copse they come across the Undead Purgatory, but that's another story. The Undead makes their way to a two way pass. And to the right of both there is a little stone hut with a locked door. Once the door is unlocked by the Undead via a key a little ways ahead they meet Creighton. He was trapped there by Pate and once freed swears revenge.Once the two were done talking they parted ways.  As the Undead makes their way to the lair of the Skeleton Lords. Once Great warriors commanded by the Old Iron King to capture all undead. They were overcome by the curse in the end and became powerful aguers of undeath. Dispatched by the Undead they faded to darkness. And the gateway to Harvest Valley was open.

The Undead Purgatory Is the Domain of the Executioner and his Chariot. The cursed place was constructed by the Old Iron King just for the sole purpose of torturing undead, killing them over and over again. Soon the Executioner and his minions fell to the curse becoming undead themselves. Even his chariot Steeds fell to the curse, conjoining together into a two headed horse of undeath. But the chariot is destroyed and released to darkness. After they meet Titchy Gren. A blood crazed loon who offers rewards to the Undead for going on mudress rampages.

Having entered Harvest Valley, the Undead meets Chloanne, a stone appraiser and trader. After they talk to her for a while she heads to Majula where the Undead discovers that she is actually Lenigrast's daughter. Harvest Valley were the Mines for which the Old Iron King got his namesake. However once the mines ran dry a poison began to pollute the mines. As the Undead make their way through the mines they come to a building. Inside they find a gargantuan mass of flesh, this is the Covetous Demon. The Covetous Demon was once a man who loved someone who did not love him back. In his loneliness he started to consume all he could, evidently he consumed so much that he turned into this monsturity. With an eternal hunger and crippling loneliness that grows every day. Once the demon has been sent to darkness the Undead makes their way to Earthen Peak

Earthen Peak was an iron ore refinery where it was converted to a usable material, now all it does is cycle the poison through the peak and valley. Near a bonfire the Undead comes into contact with Lucatiel once more, she apologizes to them for burdening them with her story and gives them a gift. She then speaks of her brother, how they trained together, and about how he disappeared. She then states “My brother must have come here, too.” As the Undead ventures forward they also meet Gilligan. He makes it quite clear that he is a fugitive. He offers his services in Majula later on once the Undead defeates Mytha. The final person they meet is Pate, he tells the Undead that there is a treasure up ahead but he is too scared to get it. Once they claim the treasure Pate says that The Undead is more rugged than he thought, and the two part ways. The Undead burns the windmill powering the mill on his way to slay Mytha, removing her precious Poison. Mytha was betrothed and Madly in Love with the Iron King, but he loved another, we presume the lost sinner. Mytha was so obsessed that she took to poisoning herself to make herself more beautiful to charm the Iron King. However once the Calamity hit and he was turned into a demon she literally lost her head. She carries it around with her, absorbing the poison, keeping her young, and strong. Once the Undead Vanquishes her and gives her peace they make their way to the Old iron Keep.

The Iron Keep was a castle constructed of pure iron, the castle was so dense that it began to sink and be consumed by the ground. As the Undead enters the keep they meet Magerold, a peculiar and interesting collector, and he adores trinkets. As the Undead wanders around the keep they encounter a Demon made of pure iron. The Smelter demon was the final catalyst in the Old Iron Kings transformation. Striking him down into a pool of lava, turning him into a demon. Its origin is unknown, all that is is that it is unnatural, and the Undead strikes it down sending it to oblivion whence it came. After the encounter with the Smelter Demon the Undead discovers Belfry Sol, But that's a story for later. The Undead fight with tooth and nail to confront The Old Iron King. The King who had been submerged in liquid metal transformed him, causing him to grow well over 3 stories tall, his skin becoming hard as iron, and his blood becoming liquid metal. He had become a lumbering Giant of a beast known as an Ichorous Earth. Once the king is vanquished his soul is finally put to rest and he can join his love in the comfort of the eternal dark. The Chosen Undead then enters one of the few underground areas still intact under the massive lake of molten metal. There they light the second primal Bonfire. Returning to Majula.

But before we go to the next location how about we take a look at the Undeads short journey through Belfry Sol. They encounter the same bell keeper from before (I regret not killing him then and there) and through a door right past him is the Belfry. The Undead fights their way through the numerous enemies to the bell and rings it, unlocking the area of it, which leads right back to where it started, only learning that the Iron King had built a Bell to reciperacte the Lost Sinners feelings.

Once back in Majula the Undead can talk to Gilligan to put a ladder down a giant Gaping hole in the middle of the settlement. Doing this leads to the Grave of Saints. A mass grave of heroes who fought long before the kingdom of Drangleic was constructed. The grave has long since been infested by rats the size of huskys. As the Undead travels through the grave they encounter a Vanguard of Rats. The leader of this vanguard is the Royal rat, or the rat that has a dark ridge of fur on his back. Once slain the rest of the rats retreat. In the next room the Undead meats the Rat King. Being able to both understand and speak human language the two convers and the Rat King Knights the Undead as the new protector of Grave of Saints. The Path to the Gutter is opened.

The Gutter is just that, a gutter where everything that's unwanted in Majula, or all of Drangleic ends up. It's a Cesspool of garbage, Undead, corpses of those lucky enough to say dead. And poorly built platforms. The undead must jump from platform to platform to find their way to Black Gulch

Black Gulch is the place where the Rotten calles home, and it is here that the Undead meets Lucatiel for a 4th time. It is clear that she is starting to lose grip on her humanity. After the two are done Speaking the Undead makes their way to the Rotten. This thing is a giant cluster of humans stuck together to form a working upper half of a humanoid being, while the bottom is a countless number of limbs that it uses to shuffle around. The Rotten is held together by a soul on one long dead, and that grand soul is claimed by the Chosen Undead once they eradicate the scourge, freeing all of the souls trapped within. The Chosen Undead then makes thier way to the third Primal Bonfire, ignites it, and returns to Majula.

Having Claimed 3 Grand souls the Undead makes their way to the Shaded woods. However a Statue blocks the Path, Once the statue is unpetrified she is revealed to be Carhillion’s former apprentice who he abandoned. The Undead giver her some spare clothes as she is wearing nothing but rags. She teaches the Undead about Pyromancies and the two part ways. As the Undead follow the path they come to a three way crossroads. The left goes to Drangleic Castle, the center goes to a kings gate which states that it can only be opened by the symbol of the king, and the right which leads to a foggy wooded area. At this crossroad the Undead meets Creighton again. He thinks that they are Pate and readied his weapons, but then realised otherwise, he spoke of Pate home down the way and said that he wasn't getting away this time. With that the two parts ways and the Undead makes their way through the foggy woods, The Undead came to a small alcove free of fog, and here they found the Head of Vengarl, the head telles the Undead of how he fought in the war of giants and was defeated in battle. And of how when he awoke he was like this, bodiless. Then he warned them of his body, which he could still feel wandering around. Looking for a Kill. The Undead continues down the way and meets a half man half scorpion named Tark. He asks the Undead to kill his bride-to-be Najka, he speaks of their creator who had gone mad and disappeared, of his love who had gone just as mad as their master, and of how all he wants is for his love’s suffering to end. The Undead  helps him with his quest, and once His love’s madness has been eased by the dark, the manscorpion thanks the Undead and accepts his fate of eternal solitude, having put his love above his own sanity. Once the two part ways the Undead makes their way to Brightstone Cove Tseldora.

Brightstone Cove Tseldora was a Massive quarry owned by Duke Tseldora, It has long been overrun by Giant spiders. As the Undead defeats roves and roves of spiders and hollows alike they come across both Pate and Creighton, fighting to the death. Pate says that Creighton attacked first and asks for help. While Creighton asks them to help end Pate’s treachery. Whoever the Undead helps, ends up helping gives them a key to a locked door a little ways down. But that person also leads them to a trap hoping they kill the Undead this way, and the person disappears never to be seen again. The Undead barely dodging the trap then makes their way down to the deepest depth of the quarry where they meet the pet of the long lost duke. The Duke's Dear Freja is a massive Spider with one head on each end of its body. The spider's lair is infested with is young and a Massive Dragon hangs on the ceiling, presented as a shriveled prize. The undead hacks away at the spider and its young until the spider falls to them, removing the scourge from the earth once and for all. Once the Chosen finishes the beast off  they find a soul below the spot where the dragon hangs. This is the fourth and final grand soul. The Undead then makes their way through the small cave on the other side of the lair and finds the office of duke Tseldora who has completely hollowfied. Once the duke is put out of his misery for a while the Undead discovers Vengarl's body and puts it to rest giving him peace. The Undead then lights the final Primal Bonfire and Returns to Majula. It is then that the Emerald Herald tells the next Monarch to seek out the previous king and guides them to Drangleic Castle.

The Castle was the pride and joy of Vendrick. And has remained intact over the years. The Undead makes their way to the front of the castle and meets Wellager The Spectral Chancellor. He seems unaware of his ghostly state and offers the Undead supplies for their travels. They make their way through the castle, killing two more Dragon Riders, and making their way to Nashandra who also guides them to the king. The Undead makes their way through the King's Passage to the Looking Glass Knight, the guardian of the Shrine of Amana. Once the knight has succumbed to the comfort of darkness the Undead makes their way to the shrine.

In the Shrine’s Center there is the Demon of Song, which developed a taste for human flesh, sang to lure in its prey. But it was no match for the Undead, who put an end to its singing forever. That is when the way to the Undead Crypt opened.

As they enter the Undead Crypt they meet its Warden, Agdaye, a Milfanito. He warns the Undead not to bring light into the crypt for it would disturb the sleeping dead. He tells of King Vendrick and his Royal Aegis, Velstadt. With that the Undead departs further into the crypt until they confront Velstadt. He wielded a massive hammer that could Crush the Chosen Undead with one swing. The Battle was fierce as Velstadt’s only purpose left was to defend the king, which he did to the very end. Past him was Vendrick himself, a mere shadow of the former king, but just as powerful. It was a long fought Battle but the Chosen Undead triumphed and defeated the king as well, putting both of their souls to rest. The Undead then claimed the King Symbol which was a Ring. With ring in hand he left the Undead Crypt to at the end of their journey return once again.

With the Symbol of the king the Undead open the Kings gate in the Shaded Woods to enter Aldia’s Keep.(I just want to put in my 2 cents. What I'm about to tell you is in my opinion, the most sad part of the game and it honestly made me cry.) The Undead met Lucatiel for the last time, when they approached her this was her entire reaction. “Who are you… Oh…No, forgive me… I know you…Yes, of course. How goes your journey? I know not what you seek in this far-away land… But I pray for your safety. My name is Lucatiel. I beg of you, remember my name. For I may not myself…” She came to this land to not only cure her curse, but to find her brother. In the end she never found him, as her memory faded and turned hollow she disappeared. What really sent me over the edge while playing this part of the game is that right after that we meet her brother, Aslatiel. His mind was warped and he attacked the Undead on the spot. The Undead defeated him, releasing his soul. Lucatiel just wanted to live long enough to see her brother again, but in the end she faded right before she could. The Undead continus their way through the keep until they make it to a sleeping drake in a Cage. This drake attempted to defeat the Undead and failed, as did the others in Dragon Aerie.

Dragon Aerie was a large amount of tall stone pillars connected by wooden bridges. Contrary to the name Dragon Aerie was home to Drakes much like the one in the cage. The Emerald told the Undead to make their way to the Dragon Shrine past the Aerie to the one who gave her her name. Shanalotte. One by one the Drakes of the Aerie fell. The Undead then walked across the final bridge to the Dragon Shrine.

The Shrine was home to knights who protected the Ancient Dragon in the center of the shrine. They fight their way to him and as a reward the dragon gives them the Ashen Mist Hearst. A Powerful Item Which allows one to enter the memories of the dead

With this Item the Undead make their way back to the Forest of Fallen Giants and travel through the memories of the giant trees until they face The Giant Lord. The Giants all share a Kinship with one another, they feel the same emotions and the same pain. This link is held within the Giant Lord. The Chosen Undead and the Giant Lord clashed with such ferocity that the Battle field shook like Raging Thunder. In the end, the Undead vanquished the Lord and claimed the Giant's Kinship for themselves. As the ash faded and the mist cleared they returned to their time, and made their way to the Throne of Want.

Drangleic Castle was constructed right on top of the throne and was guarded by the watcher, the defender, and a kings gate. With the Kings Ring they pass through the gate, and with their own strength strike down the watcher and defender. It is then that Nashandra appears. It is here that she takes her true form, thanking them for removing the pests and bringing her the keys to the throne. She is in truth, a fragment of the being that lived in the dark. Soon that fragment took human shape and lust for the throne. The Chosen Undead stood their ground and fought against Nashandra, Fragment of Desire. Nashandra’s control over the curse made her a formidable foe. The Chosen Undead was stronger. With the Strength of the 4 Great Souls, The Pure Rage of the Giants, and The Loss of friends and foes alike, the Undead beat Nashandra back. Silencing her once and for all. Having vanquished the Queen of Desire. As they open the Massive kelm that houses the throne, the Emerald Herald Speaks “You, who link the fire, you who bear the curse… Once the fire is linked, souls will flourish anew, and all of this will play out again. It is your choice… To embrace this, or renounce this…. Great Sovereign, take your throne. What lies ahead, only you can see.” With this the Chosen Undead has become the Sovereign. However, their journey is not yet done.

As the Sovereign wanders through their kingdom the Ashen Mist Heart begins to pulsate. It guides them back to Vendrick's Armor, with it the heart takes them into the kings memories to before he had hollowfied. Vendrick greets the Sovereign calling them seeker of firem, and tells them to bring him the 3 crowns of fallen kings of this land and points him to Frozen Eleum Loyce, The Sunken Sanctum, and the Brume Tower.

The Sovereign travels to Eleum Loyce, however when they approach the front gate they are warned by a disembodied voice to leave and warns them of the old Chaos’s hunger. As the Sovereign travels through the frozen city the voice again speaks saying to not seek what was sheltered in this place. The Sovereign discovers an artificial eye that allows them to see the unseen within the city. The Sovereign then makes their way to the Shrine but is confronted by Alva, one of the king's many pets, who was told to guard his queen in his absence. Alva fought with grace and elegance contradicting its ferocious appearance. Once vanquished Alva found peace, having served its master to the very end. It is then that the Sovereign makes their way to the Grand Cathedral.

In the Grand Cathedral the Sovereign meets Alsanna, the Silent Oracle. It was her who had been speaking to the Sovereign. Surprised by the strength of the Sovereign she asks them to free her lord and her love from the chaos that rages below. She tells them of the knights throughout the city that could help them. The Sovereign agrees and sets out, back into the city to find them. Once they have gathered their forces they descend into the Old Chaos where they are met by the Ivory King’s royal guard. Making their way through the battlefield through Chaos Portals, the two forces clash. As the royal guard soldiers seem to never end, three of the Sovereign’s knights sacrifice themselves. Turning themselves into ice that seals the portals. One Massive portal then sprouts from the ground, and the Ivory King steps through. The Clash shook the Old Chaos to its core. The Sovereign and The Ivory King were an even match, each hit was met with a retaliation, the two traded blows multiple times. It would have been a stale mate if not for the fourth and last knight the Sovereign had brought with him. Together the two struck down the Ivory King. Releasing him from the Old Chaos so he could finally be at peace. The last knights of Eleum Loyce had perished in the process, but it had been done. The Sovereign claims the Ivory Crown and is then brought back up by Alsanna, she reveals that like Nashandra she is a fragment of darkness. Out of fear she has sought out the Ivory King to receive his protection. She thought that she had deceived him into thinking that she was human and that she loved him. In the end, she realised that neither were true, and he still loved her despite the fact. In his final moments before diving into the old chaos to keep it at bay, he gave her a gift. A sword with the name Eleum Loyce inscribed on it. The city they had built together. It was then that she realised that she truly loved him back, it was then she transformed from the augre of fear to the Silent Oracle, and it was then that she started the ritual to keep back the Old Chaos as her love was consumed by it. Hearing this story really makes us question the meaning of good and evil, and if it is better to be born good, or become good by overcoming evil tendencies. And so the Sovereign left Eleim loyce, a little wiser and a little happier.

The Sovereign makes their way to the sunken city to Shulva, the Sanctum City. It is here that the Sovereign discovers that both the city and the sanctum has been poisoned. They make their way through the city to the side of the sanctum where they are nearly burned to death by a dragon. After the attack the dragon flies off to another location.

The sanctum is just as sick as the city, the Sovereign makes their way down to the bottom of the shrine where giant blind monsters shamble around and try to eat them. One Sovereign makes their way through striking the beasts down one by one until they reach a mechanism that raises up the missing parts of the bridge to Dragons Rest.

The Sovereign fights their way through Dragons Rest and confronts Elana the Squalid Queen. Killing the one who killed her king she sought to amass enough souls to vanquish the dragon out of spite. This auger of spite told the Sovereign to rot and that they were not worthy. In the end she, like her sister Nashandra fell to the Sovereign and was returned to nothing, whence she came. Just past her lies Sinh, the Slumbering Dragon. He holds within him a poison that he kept contained. But the prideful Yorgh, who had slain the Sunken King, buried a spear deep within the dragon's Hide, awakening him and releasing the poison he held within. Sinh’s poison blanketed the city and sanctum causing all who resided within to perish. Then the dragon tried to sleep once more but felt great pain from the spear that stuck out of his hide, suffering for years and years. The Sovereign sought to end his suffering, and so they did. After claiming the Sunken King crown the Sovereign left the underground city, Praying that they never return

The Sovereign makes their way to the last Crown. That of the Old Iron King. while he himself turned into Ichorous Earth he was not wearing his crown. The Sovereign had found a gateway to the top of his keep. Named Brume Tower. As they had found their way inside they were presented with a Ashen Mist Idol, which spued flame from the ground to attack the Sovereign. But its attack faile and the idol was destroyed. Releasing a fragment of the Ash Bride, Nadalia. Who arrived too late to claim the Iron king for herself. In her despair she requlinshed her flesh to the ash and deemed her domain the Brume Tower. The Sovereign makes their way down the tower destroying these Idols and claiming each fragment of Nadalia's soul within them. Once they reach the bottom the meet Raime, a rebel knight of Drangleic, how had been beaten and banished by Vesdalt. He Came to Brume tower seeking power but instead became infatuated with the ashen auger. He chose to stay with her giving her the king she lacked for hundreds of years. Having Fused his soul with a fragment of hers he got the power he had desired, but chose to stay and guard the tower and his ashen love. The Sovereign stands up to him, giving him a honorable death that would allow both him and Nadalia to rest in the comfort of darkness with each other for eternity. Once the Sovereign has done this he recovers the final crown, and leaves for the Undead Crypt.

In the Undead Crypt the Sovereign enters the king's memories once more. Vendrick reveals many things, that the Crowns when close together have the power to stop the hollowification process, and that the curse is not becoming hollow, but humanity. For a hollow is the true form of humanity, and every time an undead dies they are purged of the curse that is humanity. He then tells us that the rest will follow.

Some People say that Darksouls is a hard game for the fun of it. Some people say that it points out the pointlessness of life and how no matter what, we can’t change anything. I think that it is a representation of human nature and our humanity. Lose all we love like the Last Giant. Like the Lost Sinner, we sometimes forsake the one we love without meaning to. Eat our emotions like the Covetous Demon. Alter our bodies to try to seduce someone we like, like Mytha. Become our inner demons like the Old Iron King. Go crazy and hurt the ones we love like Najka, sacrifice our own wellbeing to ease the suffering on the ones we love like Tark, abandon the ones we are responsible for like Duke Tseldora. We help the ones who are important to us like Velstadt, backstab each other like Pate and Creighton, see someone for what they are on the inside and not the outside like the Rat King, Find Peace with ourselves like Vengarl. Feel rage and anger for another to the point of fighting like the Giant Lord. We lose ourselves in despair like Lucatiel, show someone kindness and love even if they don't seem worth it like the Ivory King, wanting a protector at any cost or looking at yourself and making a change like Alsanna. Doing something to protect others even if its at the cost of yourself like Sinh the Slumbering Dragon, Wanting to protect the one you love at any cost like the Fume Knight, Having done something that causes other to go after you like Gilligan, Regretting your actions and wishing you could go back and change it like Vendrick. Nashandra wanting the Throne. Want is a funny thing isn't it, we all want something, and if you look at all of them and boil it down they were all wants. What the Ancient Dragon really said is true. A curse of life is a Curse of want. The difference is what you want, What makes you Human.
