Creative Writing - Fiafia 2021

With Fiafia 2021 so close we can smell it, it’s a great time to take our excitement, our nervousness, and our pride, and channel it into something creative!

Your task today is to write a short story, about what Fiafia 2021 was like.

Choose one of the following options as the template for your writing.

Option One:

A “recount” from your own perspective about Fiafia night.

A news article in the New Zealand Herald explaining what Fiafia night is to people who have never heard of it.

Plan Your Writing Here: I’ve never been to Fiafia night but from all the stuff I've heard about it I know that there’s gonna be food stands, lots of dancing, and a donation box. This is option one by the way i just haven’t gone

Begin your writing here: This Fiafia night is gonna be awesome because this time we are not getting rained on, I’m saying this like I've actually been to one but I haven't. All i know is that this is gonna be my first ever going to fiafia and that there’s gonna be food there. I don’t even remember much from the dance that i have to do.

Fiafia is about celebrating and expressing our culture into a song or dance. We have made earrings, and food before and this fiafia is gonna be more of the same. I don’t really know much about fiafia but I do know that the school celebrates it every two years.
