Note that a Teen Card may be obtained by anyone 13-17 without a parent or guardian’s signature needed.

Youth/Teen/Adult cards can still access digital resources regardless of blocked/expired status and there is currently no end date for those permissions. Residents can call the Central Library (757-385-0150) to set up a card, or call Central or their local branch library to get information about their cards’ status. Residents can renew library cards over the phone as long as they aren’t updating any information or have fines, which can be paid either online via the library website or in person at one of the open branches.

Holds on physical items can be picked up at the branch location of patron’s choice, either inside the building if it’s open, or in lobby/drive-through service if it is closed.(See link for current opening/closing information). Holds on digital items can be accessed through the respective apps.
