STEPS

to work at an audio text to practise

writing and new vocabulary

Step 1

Get ready for work (prepare a copybook, a pencil, a gadget with headphones, a short audio text that lasts 1-2 minutes, a printed version of this text).

Step 2

Listen to the whole text for the first time. Try to catch what the text is about, who the characters are etc.

Step 3

It is time to write a dictation.

Start listening to each separate sentence. Try to remember it and write it down. If the sentence is too long, divide it into short parts and put down the sentence part by part. Do it till you write the whole text.

Step 4

Listen to the text again and follow your written work. You may notice some spelling mistakes or missing words.

Step 5

Take a printed version of the audio text and check your variant with the original one.

Step 6

If you see some spelling mistakes in your writing. Copy the words and write some lines to remember them.

Step 7

If there are some words in the texts that are unfamiliar to you? Make a list of such words and practise them every day. You may use Quizlet. Make up simple sentences with the words and put them down.

Step 8

Log on Natural Reader. Choose the voice speed. Copy and paste the whole text or separate sentences you want to practise.

Step 9

Read the sentences after the speaker, then with the speaker.

Step 10

Record your reading and enjoy listening to it.
