BEGIN WRITING ARTICLE DRAFT
All links must open in a new window! All links must contain ‘nofollow’ unless linking to a Sponsor.
Create a focus keyphrase - Google your title to see what 2-4 word phrases people are searching for and check Ubersuggest to see which is most popular (ideally 1000+ searches a month). This is your focus keyphrase. -- WAIT FOR YURI’S CONFIRMATION
Create an article title with focus keyphrase + other keywords if possible - about 10 words.
Put your FOCUS KEYPHRASE in Yoast
Your permalink should contain the focus keyphrase. Put the permalink in IK ASAP. Notify YouTube Manager & Content Manager. Make sure copy the full permalink (www.realmenrealstyle.com/my_article) into a text formatting stripper and then into IK. -- WAIT FOR YURI’S CONFIRMATION
Put the Keyphrase in the SEO title (at beginning if poss)
Write a meta description. This will appear beneath your Article Title in google
Intro - hit pain point & promise solution. In general, use single lines and short paragraphs. Try and include the focus keyphrase
Succinct sponsor CTA between Intro and Video - bold paragraph with link that contains keyword the sponsor would want to rank for, bold italic paragraph with link that starts ‘click here’ and contains the brand name
Succinct sponsor CTA at end of article - same as above, bold paragraph with keyword link, bold italic paragraph with ‘click here’ link
Discount code in both CTAs if there is one
Article subheadings are numbered <H2> & should contain relevant keywords and key phrases.
Break up sections with a quote (at least 2 sentences from the start/end). Quotes should be centered and H4. (You can also ask the artists to make a quote image, or make one yourself.)
Sponsored? Tag ‘novideo’
Sponsored? Check ‘disable all ads’ box
Add a summary at the end of article. Brief paragraph summarising the article.
Check categories ‘All Articles-Podcasts-Videos’, ‘All Articles’, ‘All Videos’
Check 1-3 other relevant categories
Google your Focus Keyword. Look at top 5 results and ask yourself - IS MINE THE BEST?
Images must be crisp - we do not use blurry images. We can not use images of people / products if we do not have permission to use them! All images are centered. Most attractive images should go towards the top of the article. All images must be relevant to the article’s content! Only upload JPG images.
Use https://compressimage.toolur.com/ before uploading images to WordPress.
DON’T compress infographics or lower-quality sponsor images.
Image size: 700 pixels wide. Re: the image’s height, make an intelligent call based on what the image is, e.g. portrait format for a full body shot, square for a close-up of a watch face
Go for high quality images. It’s ok not to use sponsored images in sponsored posts as long as they don’t contain a rival’s label. Use contrasting backgrounds. For clothing, show a man WEARING it. Make sure images point inward.
Make a max one image per section for the first few sections.
Your image name should be lowercase, descriptive of the image (e.g. “mens jacket”). No punctuation. Copy image name into alt text field in WordPress.
Make sure one of your images has the same image name as the focus keyphrase.
Sponsored post? Make sure you include relevant images., Do not show images from other sponsors or products.
All images have a caption containing the sponsor name with a keyword-rich link, (e.g. ‘Click here to grab these men’s dress boots from Thursday Boots’).
Make sure you check off ‘Article Draft’ in IK and notify Content Manager.
BEGIN ARTICLE FINAL
Go to the text tab and paste in the code below.
Copy the end of the URL, e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9JqJNmYPY0.
Paste it where it says ‘STRINGOFLETTERS’.
Paste the playlist link where it says ‘PLAYLIST LINK’.
Write the headline where it says HEADLINE.
Insert featured image from IK
Preview on MOBILE and computer, check links work & open in new window
Schedule for 6:55 on date of publication. Click Schedule
Set Author to Antonio
Readability and SEO must both be ‘Good’
Check American English Spelling
Final Read Through. Double check date and time of publication.
DAY OF PUBLICATION
Right before publication: Check for any changes to the video or featured image, update if needed
Right after publication: Check video is working (including the text link underneath!) and featured is showing correctly on homepage
