Yoga and Meditation

Instructors will take us step by step through the fundamental aspects of yoga sutra and walk us through the ultimate goal of reaching towards the conscious state of mind.

Dr.Vipul Mankad will provide a brief overview of yoga and meditation as well as give a brief explanation of what some of the basic restraints and observances of yoga are and  Mrs.Jyoti Shah will lead us into practicing chair yoga and pranayam. The participants will learn some simple stretches and asanas which they can continue to practice at home.

About Instructors

Dr. Vipul Mankad is former Professor and Chairman, Department of Pediatrics, University of Kentucky. His own clinical practice focused on pediatric hematology oncology treating children with serious blood disorders and cancers. He has practiced yoga and meditation for more than 20 years. 4. Food Table Corner

A reminder that we have taken on a initiative around meeting lunches going forward - For leftovers we have two options:

Option 1: The person responsible for a particular dish takes leftovers back home

Option 2: We will collect the leftovers and deliver it to NCSU students

Food served during monthly meetings and special events has played a vital role in building our community over the years. It has enabled us to spend quality time to learn Jainism and socialize with other fellow Jains without having to worry about our usual lunch/dinner planning that day. This wouldn't have been possible without the hard work and monetary donations from several individuals. We are extremely grateful for their efforts and thank them for their continued contributions.

Please contact our food coordinator, Mr. Rajan Chheda @ (978) 408-7284  for any questions / details.
