THE POSITION:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Computer Science Teacher with a minimum of three years’ working experience in planning and teaching the IGCSE and A-level Computer Science Curriculum to join our school. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to students, inspiring them to develop a keen interest in computer science and technology.

JOB PURPOSE:

The primary purpose of this role is to deliver outstanding computer science education that equips students with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in a rapidly evolving technological world. The Computer Science Teacher will foster a passion for technology and computational thinking, preparing students for future academic and career success. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging computer science lessons to students at the secondary level.
• Implement a curriculum that meets the educational standards and requirements.
• Assess and monitor students' progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
• Utilize various teaching methods and resources to cater to different learning styles.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in computer science and integrate them into the curriculum.
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in departmental meetings and school events.
• Support extracurricular activities and clubs related to computer science and technology.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Qualifications:

• Must have a minimum of a Bachelor of Education, Computer Science option. A master’s degree qualification in Computer Science is desired.
• Successful teaching experience with A-level students.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

Experience:

• Proven experience teaching computer science at the secondary school level.
• Experience in curriculum development and lesson planning.
• Experience with various teaching methodologies and educational technologies.

• Experience in preparing students for IGCSE and A-Level examinations.

Skills and Personal Attributes:

• Strong knowledge of computer science principles, programming languages, and software development.
• Ability to create a stimulating learning environment that motivates students.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Passion for education and a commitment to students' academic and personal growth.
• Proficiency in using technology and digital tools for teaching purposes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a team-oriented environment.
