Wildlife First Responders Course 2020 

What: Learn to be a Wildlife First Responder

When: Saturday February 15, 20209am-4pm 

Where: Allegheny College (Quigley Hall Room 101, Allegheny St, Meadville PA)

Who: Adults 

Fee: $50. Includes lunch, snacks, and a one year membership with Tamarack Wildlife Center. 

You will learn when to intervene and when not to and how to capture, stabilize and transport injured birds and other wildlife. Carol Holmgren and Laryssa Rote, licensed wildlife rehabilitators, and Heather Wayne, wildlife rehab manager for TWC, will be your instructors.

While the main thrust of the class is learning how to respond when you find wildlife in need, you will also be introduced to opportunities to help wildlife by volunteering with the center. Those wishing to volunteer by answering our wildlife phone helpline for a 4 hour shift each week will be given priority in registration until January 1 and will receive a rebate of $20 once starting to volunteer (with mentoring) after the course.
