UCACF Awards Microgrants to Seven Noteworthy Community Programs, Including the Greater Nashville Chinese Association's Civic Education Initiative

The UCA Community Foundation (UCACF) is pleased to announce that it has awarded microgrants to seven outstanding community programs. These awards highlight UCACF's dedication to supporting impactful projects within the Chinese and Asian American community.

The awarded programs are:

  1. Chinese Community Civic Education Program, led by the Greater Nashville Chinese Association.
  2. The 2024 Boston Lunar New Year Gala, an annual festivity presented by UCA-MA.
  3. A dedicated memorial at the historic Valhalla Cemetery to honor early Chinese immigrants, a vision of the Asian American Civic Scholars (Chinese Service Center of St. Louis).
  4. The 20 Million Project, an initiative by the Next Generation Leaders (NGL) team under the Committee of 100.
  5. "Celebrate Lunar New Year Together," an annual celebration orchestrated by Ding Ding TV.
  6. The Equity Link Tutoring Program, managed by the Little Masters Club.
  7. The ALLY Leadership Fellowship, a youth-driven initiative by the Asian Youth Liberty League.

UCACF invites more Chinese and Asian American community organizations to seek our grant support. A successful project proposal should:

  1. Align with UCA’s mission.
  2. Be a charitable start-up initiative.
  3. Have a solid project management team.
  4. Exhibit uniqueness and creativity.
  5. Showcase potential for extensive social impact.

All proposals should be accompanied by a comprehensive business plan detailing project objectives, descriptions, work plans, timelines, milestones, and budgets. All grant applications must be submitted online and will be reviewed by UCACF’s Grant Application Review Committee. The application can be accessed at: https://ucacf.org/grant-application.

Furthermore, to assist more Asian American community organizations in understanding our microgrant process, we're hosting a webinar on September 13th, 2023 (Wednesday). The session will provide insights into our application prerequisites and evaluation metrics. We warmly invite community leaders, activists, and potential applicants to join our Grant Application Review Committee and Executive Committee members to gain clarity on our evaluation and approval processes. About UCACF

ucacf.org

UCACF is a charitable foundation launched by UCA. It assists local Chinese American community organizations in raising funds for start-up charitable projects and programs, addressing the challenges of small and medium-sized local community organizations. UCACF aims to provide microgrants ($500 to $5,000) as seed funds for community projects to enrich and empower Chinese American communities.

UCACF operates as an "angel fund" for non-profit causes. We accept grant applications online and utilize a streamlined application review and approval process. It takes less than two months for an applicant to receive a grant. The UCACF organization consists of four volunteer teams: the Board of Trustees, the Grant Review Committee, the Executive Committee, and the Board of Advisors.

As a young organization, we are actively seeking more volunteers and welcome feedback and suggestions. Please contact us at info@ucacf.org or visit our website for more information.
