Susan Stewart is a candidate for Mayor of Rehoboth Beach, where she has served as a City Commissioner since 2025, finishing first in a competitive three-way race. She previously served on the Planning Commission and as a member of the Mixed-Use and Stormwater Utility Task Forces, giving her a deep understanding of our city’s strengths, opportunities, and responsibilities.

Susan brings rare depth to city leadership. She works in financial services and is trained as an attorney, giving her the expertise to manage public finances with discipline and transparency. Susan recognizes that our city is in a strong fiscal position and that to protect that, we must manage taxpayer resources carefully, maintain healthy reserves, and make thoughtful investments that deliver lasting value for residents.

She also recognizes that investing in infrastructure protects homes and businesses, strengthens property values, and improves quality of life throughout our community. Susan sees it as integral to a broader commercial revitalization effort shaped by community voices, not City Hall.

Susan works in financial services.

A graduate of Ursinus College and Penn State’s Dickinson School of Law, Susan holds the Certified Portfolio Manager (CPM®) designation and is an inactive member of the bar in Delaware, the District of Columbia, and Pennsylvania. A standout multi-sport athlete and member of two athletic halls of fame, she was a member of the U.S. Women’s Lacrosse Team and has coached collegiate basketball and lacrosse. She also serves on the Board of Trustees at Ursinus College.

Susan lives in Rehoboth Beach with her partner, Julie Olson.
