Peppermint-Cocoa Balls

Tis the season with chocolate peppermint everything! One of my favorite combos. I am all about indulging but why not have the same flavor combo and make it healthier, so the sugar addiction doesn't kick in!

INGREDIENTS: 

1 ½ cups of old fashion oats

*1 scoop of chocolate protein powder

3 tablespoons of cocoa powder

⅓ cup creamy Peanut butter

2 tablespoons of honey

⅓ cup mini dark chocolate chips

1 teaspoon of peppermint extract

3-4 tablespoons of water

A few candy canes

DIRECTIONS:

Mix all ingredients together except candy canes. Use a tin baking bowl and keep stiring untill fully mixed. You may need to add extra water. It can get dry. **Protein is optional**  Form into 1 inch balls. Crush candy canes in a zip lock bag by smashing lightly with a wooden mallet or the back of a wooden spoon until small pieces form.  Gently roll each cocoa ball in crushed peppermint.

Best stored in a gallon zip-lock bag or large rubbermade.  Do not layer. If you use bag, be sure to keep flat on a small cookie sheet. Store in fridge.

2 cocoa balls per serving!  SO good!
