Finding Aid for Non-Digitized Fire Insurance Maps

Last updated: March 2020

Overview

Toronto Public Library’s original fire insurance atlases and plans are housed in the Charles and Marilyn Baillie Special Collections Centre on the 5th floor of Toronto Reference Library.

Facsimile copies (which can be freely browsed) and most microforms are located in the Humanities and Social Science Department, located on the 2nd floor of Toronto Reference Library.

Researchers are encouraged to use copies of the plans (in digital, paper facsimile and microform formats) to preserve the fragile originals.

See also: our main page for Toronto Fire Insurance Atlases & Plans (includes digitized maps) and our Toronto Neighbourhoods Map (interactive map with more historical resources from the library)
