History Launch Day

There were some amazing outfits today and lots of interesting facts that were shared.

We had kings, queens, suffragettes, Elvis, Robin Hood to name just a few!

Lots of thought and attention to detail went into the outfits and props, thank you for making this a memorable day!

This week and next week we are thinking about our value of Caring.  In collective worship we are thinking about the bible verse ‘Long life to you! Good health to you and your household! And good health to all that is yours!’.

Next week the school council will be looking at healthy eating and the ‘be food smart’ campaign from Change 4 life.  You may want to take a look at the Change 4 life website and discuss healthy snacks with your child.

Parent/ Teacher Evenings - 30th and 31st January.

The meetings are earlier this year as we will be sharing the assessments from the end of last year.  Governor findings from the last parent questionnaire showed that parents wanted more information on their child’s attainment and this is now possible as we have been working with a new program that enables us to easily access this information.

The booking registration will open in a couple of weeks time - a parent mail will be sent when it is set up.

Class Pages

Please remember to visit the Class Pages which can be found on the school website under the Parent Pages tab OR follow the link at the top of the page!  Here you will find the topic webs and class letters for the term.

We are using some of our increased PE sport funding to pay for a qualified Yoga instructor to work with classes 3 and 5 this half term.  I have just watch some amazing sun salutations by the year 3 children.  The instructor said they were the best she has seen!  This links with our ‘Good Health’ focus this term where we are looking at ways we can keep healthy in an individual, personal way.

Maths Parents Workshop - Thursday 25th January 6pm

Mrs Lewis will be running a maths workshop for parents.  The purpose of this meeting will be to provide information about the approach to maths at Hagbourne School and begin to look at some of the methods for calculation that are taught in school.  Please save the date and more information will follow later this month.
