Lunch & Popcorn Program Coordinator

The St. Gemma Catholic School Council (CSC) is looking for a responsible and caring individual (or two) to run the Lunch & Popcorn Program for the 2019-20 school year. This program provides meals (currently a rotation of pita sandwiches, pizza, and hotdogs) and popcorn snacks once a week (generally on Fridays, or Thursdays if there’s a PD Day) to over 250 students and staff.  It is a VITAL source of revenue for the CSC, supporting extra-curricular activities for students and a variety of community-building events.

Giving to others can also reduce stress (helping to protect your mental and physical health). The new Coordinator would be responsible for all aspects of planning, coordinating, and running a successful Lunch & Popcorn Program at St. Gemma. It is a volunteer position (i.e. no compensation for time or gas), requiring 6-9 hours/week for approximately 34 weeks (Oct-June).

If you are interested in taking on this task or wish to consider other options (eg. sharing it with another parent/guardian, switching the Lunch & Popcorn Program to another day, etc.), please contact us by email (stgemma.council@gmail.com), leave a note at the school office, or speak to someone directly on Council by March 15, 2019.  We will be sure to answer any questions you might have.  Training will commence shortly thereafter (i.e. the current Coordinator will run through everything with you, starting as soon as April 1, 2019).
