The best thing about scholarships is that they are free. Yes…that’s right, free money!  You can apply through organizations, websites, scholarship tools, and more. Scholarships can be need-based, merit-based, or based on things like your hobbies, academic interest, ethnicity, religion, and much more. You don’t need to be number one in your class or an all-star athlete to get this free money for college. Check out our scholarship information below for helpful resources.

Grants

There are several grants offered by the state of Oregon. Grants, like scholarships, do not need to be paid back (most of the time). Each grant has its own application deadlines and criteria for maintenance and eligibility. The first step is determining financial need, which is done by submitting the FAFSA or ORSAA.  Click here

Check out the ECMC Opportunities Guide. Here’s a link to the Oregon version, which has information about federal grants and Oregon-specific grants: https://www.ecmc.org/media/ttflifhj/2023-2024-or-opps-book.pdf

***Make sure to contact the financial aid office for the college you are planning to attend. They are or will be your new “go to” resource. They will have knowledge of specific grants available from the college and will help guide you through the application process.
