Hoboken Cricket Club : 2025 Season FAQs

  1. How many leagues does HCC participate in?
    For the 2025 season, we are registering 4 teams participating in 3 leagues.
  1. 2 teams in CCL (Commonwealth Cricket League) - Hoboken Hawks and Hoboken Dockers -
  1. Dockers will play sunday mornings games  25 overs in Summer. Game time usually  830 AM- 9 AM start time
  2. Hoboken Hawks unlike last year will participate in 35 overs game on Saturdays with start time usually at 830 AM- 9 AM.
  1. 1 team in MCL (Millennium Cricket League) - 40 over games played on Saturday. 11am start time.
  2. 1 team in WSL (World Series league) - 35 over games played on Saturday. Start time varies between 10am-1pm (depending on the ground’s permit).
  1. Where are the games played?
    The games are played primarily in Van Cortlandt Park, Bronx, Queens, mostly around NYC areas.
  1. CCL - Van Cortlandt Park, Bronx, Queens.
  2. WSL - Van Cortlandt Park, Away games in Staten Island (1) and Connecticut (2).
  3. MCL - All games across New Jersey.
  1. What is the membership cost?
  1. $190 for regular members.
  2. $95 for students.
  1. What does the membership include?
    HCC is a non-profit. All membership money is used to maintain the club for various expenses including -
  1. Nets facility.
  2. Equipment.
  3. Leagues’ fees.
  4. Ground Fees.
  5. Website maintenance.
  6. IRS.
  7. Awards Night and Socials.
  8. Members pay only $15 for the nets (if not subscribing to the nets package).
  1. Where are nets held?
  1. Hudson Baseball Center - 2300 Summit Ave, Union City, NJ.
  1. What is the cost to attend nets?
  1. Members: $15.
  1. Nets Package: Members have an option to pay a one time fee of  $275 for the entire season. This saves them ~$175 over the season.
  1. Non-members: $25.
  1. Is it mandatory to fill google form before the nets session?
  1. Yes. It helps the nets coordinators to better plan and manage the nets sessions.
  1. Team Selection Policy
  1. Members are prioritized to be picked in the playing 11[1].
  2. Each member becomes part of one of the 4 teams’ squad.
  3. MCL and WSL play competitively. Members are selected into MCL and WSL teams based on their current[2] skill set.
  4. Hawks and Dockers focus on maximizing game opportunities and developing skill sets of all members.
  5. A member can switch squads if the captains agree.
  1. Is there any other cost?
    Yes, match day fee to cover the on field costs like:
  1. Umpires’ fee: ~$10.
  2. Food/drinks: To cover food/drinks cost the team orders during the game. You have the option to opt out.

Please note that none of the match day fee comes to the club.

  1. Can I be a non participant member?
  1. Yes, but the likelihood of getting picked in playing 11 is very low. And zero if members are available.
  2. May not be able to participate in nets sessions if the number of registrations for the nets hit the upper limit.
  3. Overall, members come first.
  1. Do I need colored jerseys or whites?
  1. MCL and CCL Sunday league require colored jerseys.
  2. WSL and CCL Saturday league requires whites.
  3. The club places the order for kits at the beginning of each season.
