Unit Conversions

litre, ml, cm3

1000 cm3  =  1 litre  =  1000 ml

* From this, you can infer that   1cm3  = 1 millitre

Litre, m3 

Recall that ….

1 litre        = 1000 cm3 

= 10cm x 10cm x 10cm

= m x  m  x   m

=  m3

Therefore,

1000 litre = 1 m3

Yes! Make no mistake!

1m3  is NOT 1 litre,     but    1m3  is 1000 litres!
