Interview Project

Interview two to three people with the intention of listening deeply and finding out “who they are” through a simple series of questions.

Ideally these are pregnant people, but if you need to practice on your best friend, your sister, or your next-door neighbor, that’s an okay place to begin. You may be surprised at what you learn. Then, challenge yourself to move from there to interviewing pregnant  people or parents. Interviews usually take about 25 minutes each.

You may be surprised at what you learn.

Interview Questions

Yes — these questions are broad and open ended . . . see what happens when  you stay with the process!

1. Might you be willing to assist me in honing my listening skills by answering a few questions about birth? (OR) I am in training and am trying to improve my listening skills. Can you assist me by allowing me to interview you about birth?

2. What do you know to be true about birth?

3. What do you believe about birth?

4. In regards to birth, how are you making (or how did you make) decisions?

5. In relation to birth, what are (or were) you afraid of?

6. In regard to birth, what are (or were) you drawn to?

Where did this person come from?
