Mission Statement
- The mission of Tonks & Associates is to persist. To establish itself as a long term entity, with a survival strategy that works without causing any negative impact or harm in the world.
- While Tonks & Associates persists, it will add value to society and to human communities by guiding, supporting and developing mechanisms of sustainable activity that create durable and equitable wealth in society through the built environment.
- We will prioritise our focus in the following hierarchy.
- Environmental Enhancement Projects. (Wetlands, restoration etc).
- Human Centric Infrastructure. (Water, Roads, Energy, Education).
Within each of the companies directives and policies is an undertone of persistence and continuity that both attracts the right talent and also nourishes it - long term. Providing an environment for growth, of both the individual and vicariously of the company.
The road to becoming an associate is long and difficult. It’s supposed to be that way, because it is only through trials and tribulations that a person's true colours are revealed. And it is the measure of those colours, like a beam of light through a prism, that allow the associates to build the governance and leadership in the fashion that is necessary for its persistence.
In so crafting the company, the associates create an ecosystem that teaches, supports, liberates, guides - but also hears, learns and changes in an organic way. Such an organisation can adapt to changes in the world by being flexible, without compromising its principals.
As a company, we believe in an equitable society. And we strive to turn our beliefs into reality by aligning ourselves with communities that have similar beliefs.
- We CAN create a society that expands outwards into our solar system - the carrying capacity of the earth is not a reasonable limitation to place upon our species.
- Global Warming is an existential threat - but not one we are doomed to succumb to. It is in our nature to keep looking for solutions when there is a threat to our existence - and we will.
- Ignoring the rights and beliefs of others does not make those rights and beliefs any less valid. We acknowledge that there are many belief systems and that sometimes they conflict. However; we prioritise our principles in the hope that the product of our beliefs is beneficial to the health and wellbeing of all people - no matter what their own values are.
- We may choose not to work with certain organisations, people or governments - we reserve this right, as part of the natural order of things - in which healthy competition between different ideas, values and principles must be allowed. And we respect that others have the same rights as we claim here.
As we learn about our principles and the overarching desires of our community we change and adapt to ensure the survival of the company and the community - as a mechanism for the production of value in society.
And we look to reap the rewards of producing value in society, so that the company may continue to secure its future, and that of the communities it serves.
