Postdoc position: Preventing online privacy-conflicts

A fully-funded Postdoc position is available in the areas of Privacy and Human-Computer Interaction at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. The successful candidate is expected to start in Q1 2020. Deadline for applicants: 15th of December 2019.

Research topic

Privacy of individuals is compromised on a daily basis because of contents shared online, including photos and videos on social networks. Oten time, the privacy of an individual is compromised by content uploaded by other individuals. Such so-called privacy conflicts can have severe consequences for the involved individuals, such as public shaming, identity theft, cyberbullying, etc. This calls for appropriate protection mechanisms. This project will tackle this problem by taking a preventive approach (rather than fixing conflicts a posteriori in a reactive approach) and by focusing on human and social behavior.
