Arkansas USSSA State Guidelines and frequently asked questions

HOW DO I MANAGE MY TEAMS ROSTER?

: Coaches/ Team admins must be logged in to access their team account. From there select your current team. From there you will find tabs labeled “Manage roster” and “Manage guest players”

These 2 tabs will have everything needed for the admin to manage permanent  players and guest players. ALL teams must have a minimum of (9) players to participate in any USSSA event in Arkansas. NO EXCEPTIONS.

A PLAYER IS ON A TEAMS LINEUP CARD BUT NOT ON THE TEAMS ONLINE ROSTER?

: If a player is found competing at any point in a USSSA event and not on the team’s online roster or added online as a guest player will be deemed illegal and will be immediately removed for the duration of the tournament. The Head Coach will immediately be ejected for the duration of the event as well and placed on probation for the remainder of the season.

ROSTER PROTESTS

: ALL roster protests must take place before the first pitch of the 3rd inning. Roster protests must be made by the HEAD COACH ONLY and submitted to the TD with $100 cash at the time of the protest. All protests lost will result in the loss of the $100. All protests won will result in the $100 being refunded back to the head coach. Each protest will be ruled upon on a case by case basis with the State Director and National Office. Play will stop until an official ruling is made and NO GAMES will be played under protest. Official rulings will be made from the State Director and/or National office. All official rulings made will be final.

DOES MY TEAM HAVE TO HAVE INSURANCE TO PLAY IN USSSA EVENTS?

: Yes, ALL teams must have a current team insurance policy equal to the USSSA insurance policies in order to participate in any USSSA sanctioned event. To purchase USSSA insurance please log into your team account, select your current 2020 team and then click on the purchase insurance tab. Once purchased the policy will automatically link to your team where it will be viewable to all tournament directors and printable also.

MY TEAM WITHDRAWS FROM AN EVENT AFTER THE BRACKETS ARE POSTED?

: ANY team that withdraws from an event after the brackets have been released will be required to pay the event entry fee in full. Failure to pay the entry fee in a timely manner will result in the coach and all players being suspended until that entry fee is paid in full. Tournament Directors may make exceptions on a case by case basis and only to their discretion.

HOW MANY PLAYERS CAN I HAVE ON MY USSSA ROSTER?

: Currently the USSSA roster system will allow up to 19 players on a team’s roster. USA Elite Select rosters have no roster cap.

WHY CAN I NOT CLASS MY TEAM “C” OR “REC” WHEN REGISTERING WITH USSSA?

:ALL teams that register with USSSA do not have the option to select “C” or “REC” when registering online per National office rules and regulations. Teams must select either A or B. Teams wishing to be re-classed to C must submit a formal request via email to the State office to be moved to C. ALL teams are monitored on a weekly basis and moved up and down accordingly.

WHAT ARE THE GUIDELINES USED WHEN TEAMS ARE RE-CLASSED?

: The USSSA website and director networks provide a platform that allows us to be the leader in this area. Teams are monitored on a weekly basis and moved up and down based on several parameters. Below are basic guidelines from the website data. A minimum of 5-7 games played must be met.

:Power ranking- At or around 1100

:In-Class Winning percentage- at or around .700

:Overall Tournament finishes (regardless of sanction played)

:Input from area directors and coaches
