  1. Program Information

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

  • WEEK 1: Listening activity with a song. Students will do follow-up activities such as fill in the gaps and vocabulary exercises and a vocabulary game.

  • WEEK 2: Listening activity with some up-to-date short news. Students will do follow-up activities such as fill in the gaps and vocabulary exercises, questions and answers .

  • WEEK 3: Listening activity with short videos. Students will do follow-up activities such as group discussions and vocabulary games.

  • WEEK 4: Listening activity with a Storytelling/Narration activity. Students will do follow-up activities such as group discussions and vocabulary exercises.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES:

Listening

Students will be able to

  • listen to short conversations,
  • talk about social, cultural and daily topics,
  • practice understanding the main idea and some important details.

Speaking

Students will be able totake part in role plays on everyday situations, such as

  • making requests,
  • asking for or giving directions,
  • making and responding to suggestions,
  • ordering food,
  • shopping for clothes,
  • talking about health problems,
  • describing a day,
  • having a phone conversation and
  • asking for tourist information.

Reading

Students will be able to skim, scan, and read for details in simple texts on familiar topics and types, such as

  • ads,
  • leaflets,
  • timetables,
  • catalogues,
  • short biographies,
  • news items,
  • everyday stories,
  • messages,
  • instructions.

Writing

Students will be able to

write a description of a person such as a family member, a friend, a famous person or

a fictional character,write at least 10 sentences (about 100 words), using the present simple, the past simple and the present perfect tenses correctly,

use sentence connectors such as ; and, so, but, because.
