JOB DESCRIPTION

HOSPITALITY/PROTOCOL

The duties outlined below for the Hospitality/Protocol Chair or Committee of an I.I. NCAR chapter are purposely comprehensive, and they can easily be adapted based on the needs of any chapter. I.I. Chapter Bylaws Format outlines essential duties for all elected chapter positions according to I.I. In addition, be sure to check your chapter's bylaws and standing rules.

OVERALL DUTIES

  1. Serves as Hostess for all events and provides welcoming service to all guests.
  2. Works with the membership chair/committee for expected guest attendance.
  3. Invites members and guests to the hospitality table.  
  4. Introduces guests not accompanied by a member to other members.
  5. Secures chapter members to bring food items (from morning coffee treats to buffet lunch items) to monthly meetings.  
  6. Coordinates with the 1st V.P. Program Chair on the timing of the monthly meeting and what food should be provided.
  7. Makes reminder calls to all those who have volunteered to bring hospitality food items.
  8. Arrives early to all meetings to set up.
  9. Stays until the end of the meeting to take down, return or dispose of left-over items.
  10. Provides a printed or digital copy of all documents/records to the new Hospitality Chair, the Historian, and the online depository.
