Friends of the Hot Springs City Library

March 10, 2025

Meeting was called to order at 3:01 pm by George.

Present:  Peggy Heinselman, Francis Raynor, George Parsons, Loretta Abbott and Starla Rice acting as secretary were present. New members Wendy Paul, Tonna Warnock, Tara Barrows and Dallas Pottroff were added to the Friends group.  

Starla read the minutes from the December 9, 2024 meeting. George entertained a motion to approve the minutes.  Peg moved that the December 9, 2024 minutes be approved.  Loretta seconded that motion.  All members present approved.

Treasurers Report:  Beginning balance was $5095.95 deposits were $1116.33.  Debits were CK# 365 Jane $200.  Balance is $6137.28.   Discussion:  George motioned that the treasurer’s report be approved. Wendy seconded that motion.  All members present approved.  

Old Business: The Christmas Tea: Silent Auction brought $393

Starla requested that the Friends renew the Junior Library Guild Subscription in the amount of $611.66. George entertained a motion that the Friends renew the JLG subscription for $611.66. Loretta moved that the Friends renew the JLG subscription for $611.66. Dallas seconded that motion. All member present approved.

Starla brought up a full moon/harvest ball August 9, 2025 that is in the planning stages, and asked George for the use of one of his tents.

Starla mentioned to Loretta that should the Grange have extra produce through the summer, that the library would be interested in offering it in the foyer.

The next meeting will be April 14, 2025.

George entertained a motion that the meeting be adjourned at 4:10 pm. Loretta moved that the meeting be adjourned. Tara seconded that motion.  All members present approved.
