Brianna (Bri) Deason (she/her) is a Youth Development Specialist at the Iowa Department of Human Rights overseeing the development of a data squad of youth and young adults with child welfare experience. Bri was a member of the Department of Human Rights  2020-21 Racial Justice Youth Action Squad and focused on an action plan to advance culturally accurate school curricula. She is in her junior year of college at The University of Iowa, studying Political Science and Pre-Law. Bri aged out of foster care which fuels her hope to either become a child advocate attorney for youth in foster care or work as a lawyer fighting racial inequality.
