EVENT NOTICE

What: 2022-23 Waterloo Catholic District School Board Girls' Basketball Championship

When: Wednesday, March 1, 2023

Congratulations on qualifying for the WCDSB Boys Basketball Championship – please note that your team’s first game is at 11:45 AM. Teams should arrive approximately 30 minutes prior to their first game.

Each team will play three games and teams should be prepared to begin all of their games a few minutes earlier than scheduled.
Each team MUST bring their own first aid kit, warm-up balls, a set of pinnies and a scorekeeper
Scoresheets will be provided – coaches need to fill out the provided game sheet available at the scorer’s table prior to game - DO NOT USE YOUR OWN SCORESHEETS
We are required to vacate the facility no later than 5:00pm
A coaches meeting will take place at the Information Table beginning at 11:30 am

CHANGE ROOMS

Change rooms will be available for players to change; you should lock your change room door when not in use and an adult or ideally the head coach should be the last person to leave the room. NEW: Changerooms may need to be shared.

**IMPORTANT**Teams will be assigned a change room and coaches can pick up the key for your assigned change room from Derrick Stryker who will be using a key-for-key system; the head coach will have to leave a set of (car/house) keys (or drivers license) in exchange for the change room key.

This system was used last year with great success allowing your students to keep their bags/coats inside the change room. Please leave the room as you found it (put garbage in place) and lock your assigned change room and return your key upon departure.

FACILITY INFORMATION

RIM Park requires all student-athletes and coaches to wear clean court shoes on the floor.

Coaches are responsible for supervising their players at all times. Coaches and players are asked to “clean up” their bench area following each match.

No food will be allowed in the gym. We ask that players, coaches and fans deposit their garbage and recyclable materials in the containers provided. Coaches should bring an extra garbage bag for their own team.

We are required to vacate the facility no later than 5:00pm.

PARKING & DIRECTIONS

RIM PARK is located at 2001 University Avenue in Waterloo. Parking is available in the main parking lot of RIM Park.

RULES

WCDSB rules apply (linked) and games will be officiated by the K-W Basketball Officials.
Absolutely no jewelry will be allowed. Please ensure players are aware of this rule.

AWARDS

Team awards: Plaques to the winning team and finalist in each of the final games (AAAA, AAA, AA, A).
Individual awards: 1st AAAA – medals; 2nd AAAA – medals; 3rd – 8th Ribbons
