FR/Soph & Reserve race awards at the end of race
-Be sure your runners get their assigned bib number as that is how they are identified by the computer. A max of 10 runners per team can be entered for a Varsity event. Entries are unlimited for the sub varsity races (this included unlimited entries for boys fresh/soph race). Varsity/JV DO NOT need to be designated in the entries. Divisions will be set once all the entries have been received. If you wish for your runner/runners to run “up” a class, you must email Coach Julie Beakas at juliebeakas@npusc.k12.in.us with your request by the entry deadline. NO CHANGES WILL BE MADE TO DIVISIONS ONCE THEY HAVE BEEN POSTED.
DO NOT interchange the assigned numbers as the computer will automatically disqualify wrong gender numbers.
Participating student-athletes must pin their number on the lower front section of their jersey and wear it during the race. Coaches and parents need to remain clear of the chute area.
VERY IMPORTANT: FOR THEIR OWN SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF RUNNERS FINISHING AFTER THEM, REMIND YOUR RUNNERS TO RUN ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE FINISH LINE AREA TO THE BACK OF THE CHUTE OR VEER OFF TO THE RIGHT.
-Extra Bibs that are not being used should be immediately turned in at the packet pick-up area of the CC Pavilion.
-Individual place ribbons and medals will be handed out inside the stadium at the track. Awards will begin for each Varsity Class shortly after the finish of the girl’s race in that class. We will start with the boy’s awards first, giving girl’s teams a chance to cool down and then report straight to the stadium for awards presentations. Reserve race awards will be done at the end of each race.
-Results will be posted on NPCougars.com upon completion of each awards ceremony. No paper results will be handed out.
-Coolers are not allowed at the chute exit area. This has been problematic in the past with parents wanting to hand water to runners at the chute area causing backups and a safety issue just past the finish line. Please remind them to keep back and allow the flow of runners to exit the chute.
-Two garbage bags are included in each of your team packets, please have your team(s) clean up your camp area and place the bags by the nearest garbage can.
-The concession stand will be open for food and beverages.
-Invitational T-shirts will be sold again this year near the concession stand for those that wish to purchase them. Shirts are on a first come, first serve basis while supplies last.
-Inclement Weather: New Prairie HS is equipped with an Earth Network Lightning detection system. Please review the separate attachment so you know what the sounds mean. In the event of an alert, ALL student athletes will need to enter the gyms at NPHS until the all clear is given. Updates regarding weather issues will be available on NPCougars.com
Team Fees Remain the same. $125 per gender/$250 per school with both boys and girls teams. Teams with less than 5 runners, $30 per runner.
We Thank You for your participation and cooperation that makes this event such a success. We wish you all the best the rest of the season and into the IHSAA State Tournament Series!
