On June 23, 2025, the San Ramon Valley Unified School District (SRVUSD) and the California School Employees Association (CSEA) negotiations teams held their sixth session for annual reopener negotiations. While the District and CSEA have already reached agreement on necessary budget reductions, this session focused on the annual negotiation of contract articles identified by both parties.
The parties discussed the following topics:
- Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
- Working out-of-class/Reclassification
District Proposals Provided - June 23, 2025
The District provided the following proposals to CSEA. Highlights of each proposal are summarized below:

- Reinstatement of the 1.0 FTE Computer Systems Technician position for the 2025-26 school year
- District to fund (16) additional clerical hours per school site at the start of the year to support the opening of schools.
- The District plans to offer a Supplemental Early Retirement Plan (SERP) from Keenan, to be implemented during the 2025-26 school year.
- Establishment of a District Ad Hoc Budget Committee during the 2025-26 school year with 4 SEIU appointed members, and 4 District appointed members for the purpose of:
- Analyzing the change in revenue, expenditures, and budget assumptions/projections
- Discussing whether there is the ability to restore prior reductions to positions or work year reductions
- The committee will either make a joint recommendation to both negotiation teams or report to their respective group (SEIU/District).
- The Ad Hoc Committee will meet after each formal Board Report of the District’s Financial Condition
Memorandum of Understanding: Computer Systems Technicians/Working Out-of-Class
- Upon the direction of the Director of Technology and at the request of the Maintenance Coordinator, Computer Systems Technicians (CSTs) assigned to work out-of-class on audio-visual tasks during the 2025-26 school year shall receive a 5% hourly pay increase for each hour worked in this capacity.
- Assignments will be based on team composition and the location of the work performed.
- Work identified as Tier 1 technical support in the current CST job description—such as checking or changing projector bulbs, cleaning projector filters (up to 10 feet high), testing devices by verifying cable connections, and ensuring power to units—is not considered out-of-class work.
- CSTs will submit an Extra Pay Time Sheet to their supervisor each month.
- The District and CSEA will meet to review the out-of-class work performed by CSTs during the 2025-26 school year to determine whether this MOU needs to be extended or revised.
