PRAYER OF CONFESSION/Oración Penetencial
Gracious God, we find ourselves in a world that is filled with anxiety. Each hour, if not each minute, we look at our phones or T.V. to see what bad news of spreading disease awaits. How easy it is to allow fear to dominate our lives. How often the dark valley consumes us. Thank You for the Good Shepherd who is always with us. May we experience the certainty of your loving presence. Grant us grace to trust in your care which comes to us in the midst of our worst times and help us to know that we shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
(Silent Prayer and Meditation/Meditación en Silencio)
ASSURANCE OF PARDON/Seguridad del Perdón
Leader: Surely goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives.
People: God forgives our failures and calls us back into the flock.
RESPONSE/Respuesta What Wondrous Love Is This (v. 1) Hymnal 85
What wondrous love is this, O my soul, O my soul,
What wondrous love is this, O my soul!
What wondrous love is this that caused the Lord of bliss
To bear the heavy cross for my soul, for my soul,
To bear the heavy cross for my soul!
Leader: May the peace of Christ be with you.
People: And also with you.
(The people may greet one another saying, Peace be with you.)
