Paryushan 2019

Jain Study Center of North Carolina observed Paryushan from Aug 24-31.  The occasion was celebrated immersed in bhakti with Puja on first and last Saturday, Bhavna on 29th and 30th and Pratikraman held at various host locations.

Thanks to Pravinbhai and Artiben Shah, Arvindbhai and Arunaben Shah, Ramnikbhai and Lataben Zota, Bhairavbhai and Sejalben Shah and Shashin and Dimpi Chheda - many of us took advantage of learning about Paryushan and doing daily Pratikramans in Samuh at their homes.

Also, Many thanks to our singers and musicians at the Puja and Bhavna - Arvindbhai Shah, Pratyushbhai Mehta, Heenaben Mehta, Mayurbhai Lodaya, Ritaben Lodaya, Indiraben Doshi, Artiben Shah and Harshadbhai Shah. The group put in a lot of effort and did a splendid job at leading many stavans and dhuns.

Finally, thank you Pareshbhai Gondalia and Priteshbhai Shah for helping coordinate the Pujas during this time - your work keeps our jain vidhi alive and gets all of us in the spirit for this auspicious occasion!

4. Food Table Corner

A reminder that we have taken on an initiative around meeting lunches going forward - For leftovers we have two options:

Option 1: The person responsible for a particular dish takes leftovers back home

Option 2: We will collect the leftovers and deliver it to NCSU students

Food served during monthly meetings and special events has played a vital role in building our community over the years. It has enabled us to spend quality time to learn Jainism and socialize with other fellow Jains without having to worry about our usual lunch/dinner planning that day. This wouldn't have been possible without the hard work and monetary donations from several individuals. We are extremely grateful for their efforts and thank them for their continued contributions.

Please contact our food coordinator, Mr. Rajan Chheda @ (978) 408-7284  for any questions / details.
