Here is what’s happening this week!

ELA

Steve Specht

English Language Arts classes are continuing our readings of short stories  and poetry related to the theme of identity. Students are annotating works, and will be continuing to write their personal reflections.We can all encourage them to find a book that they enjoy reading at home and during free time.

Math

Katie Nolan

Students are working on dividing fractions. This week they have a quiz on Powers of 10, Converting mixed numbers to Improper Fractions, and Simplifying Fractions.  Students receive weekly homework assignments due every Wednesday.  Please ask students to see

Science

Andy Pond

Students will continue studying Ecosystems, Food webs, and Biodiversity.  I am excited that we will be heading outside for some Nature Observation Journaling!

Social Studies

Social Studies students will finish up their study of geography and mapping this week.

Any work that student’s do not finish in class is considered homework. I also encourage every student to read one article related to a current event or something in history, if they don’t have any other homework/reading for the evening.

In preparation for our next project where we will be creating three dimensional sculptures, we explored the use of glue with an epic glue challenge. Next week we will begin thinking about how to construct a face three dimensionally.
