Name : Marwan, Semi, Taisorn, Curtis, Tonga, Tuteao.
Purpose/Question : |
- How long does it take for ice to melt in different materials ?
|
Hypothesis : (What do you predict will happen?) |
I predict that the ice cube that is plain will melt slowly and the Ice cube with the tinfoil might melt fast and the one that has salt on it will be melting really fast.
|
Materials : (What is needed to carry out your experiment?) |
- 3 Pieces of ice that are the same size
- Tinfoil
- Salt
- Timer
- Plate
|
Procedure : |
- Get a plate and put three pieces of ice on the plate same size
- Get a bottle of salt and put some salt on one of the ice cubes.
- Get some Tinfoil then wrap it all around on one of the pieces of ice.
- Leave one of the ice cubes pale and look how it melts
- Then set a timer.
|
Observations : |
- Record detailed and objective observations of what you observe during the experiment.
- Include measurements, changes in color, texture, temperature, etc.
- Use specific descriptors and avoid personal interpretations.
During my experiment I observed that : - Marwan - I observed that the ice cube that had tinfoil all over melted faster and the one that had salt on melted medium fast and the one that was pale melted fast but still slow.
- Taisorn - I saw that the ice that had no salt in it was melting faster at first,But the salty ice block was melting faster too.
- Semi - I saw that the ice cube with the salt is melting faster than the other salt.
- Tonga - The one with the tin foil is melting faster.
- Curtis - I saw how it would melt it but why, especially with the tinfoil.
- Tuteao -I saw about the hot and the cold and that melt.
|
Conclusions : (What did you find out about your experiment? Was your prediction correct?) |
In conclusion, I found that maybe the salt can help ice cubes melt, especially the ice cube with the tin foil, the reason its tinfoil is because of the heat so the ice cube with the tinfoil melt faster because the tinfoil was warm from our hands.
