While this is not a technical server by any means, the settings below will help technical players build their contraptions around the limitation. If you are a technical player that relies on vanilla behavior, this is not the server for you.
Additionally, do not rely on these settings being the way they are. They will change. This server prioritizes the building and the community aspect. Settings will change to aid in reducing lag, change mechanics, or even purely for the sake of implementing artificial restrictions.
The information below focuses on the technical limitations of the server. These settings will define the “physics” of the world. If your build or farm do not respect these settings or restrictions, it will likely break and fail to function entirely.
View Distance: 8 Chunks
Simulation Distance: 4 Chunks
Mob Spawn Range: 3 Chunks
If you are building precise item sorters, high-speed clock circuits, or anything that relies on strict vanilla redstone behavior, pay close attention here.
Redstone Engine: Alternate Current
Hopper Transfer Rate: 8 Ticks
Hopper Check Rate: 8 Ticks
Permanent Block Breaking: Enabled
Piston Duplication: Enabled
Please check out Allowed Mods/Exploits as well.
Despawn Ranges
Note: On vanilla servers, the hard despawn is 128 blocks. On this server, your AFK spot must be within hard despawn range of your kill-room/collection point, or the mobs will disappear before they die.
Despawn Shape: Ellipsoid
Max Entity Collision: 2
Armor Stand Ticking: Disabled
Entity Activation Range:
Entities outside of these ranges will stop moving or move at a significantly reduced rate. Their AI might also be slowed down.
Q. Why isn’t my farm working when I stand 5 chunks away?
A. Our simulation distance is set to 4 chunks. If you are further than 4 chunks (64 blocks) away, the chunks are still “loaded” (visible), but they are not ticking. Redstone, crop growth, and mob AI effectively freeze in time beyond this 4 chunk radius.
Q. What is the ideal AFK spot for my mob farm?
A. You must be within 48 blocks of your kill chamber/spawning floors. If a mob wanders or is pushed further than 48 blocks from you, it instantly despawns. Also keep in mind that the shape of these 48 blocks isn’t a cylinder, it’s an ellipsoid (a 3D sphere/egg).
Q. Why did my hopper clock/1-tick pulse miss a cycle?
A. Our hopper check rate is 8 ticks. While hoppers transfer items at an 8-tick speed, they only “look” for new items or redstone changes every 8 ticks (hopper check rate). High-speed pulses that occur during the 8-tick “sleep” window will be ignored.
Q. Why are my armor stands “frozen”?
A. To save CPU along with not breaking existing decorations players made out of armor stands, armor stand ticking is disabled. They will not fall due to gravity and cannot be moved by water/pistons once placed.
